Question about Samsung 4 Channel Dvr

1 Answer

Recording Recorder says no data available. Won't record because it says disk full. Went to hdd erase and set to erase. Go back to record, won't record because still says disk full. Always kept on "continue" in record setup. Even tried rebooting several times, no change.

I have the same problem. I believe this unit is a lemon by Samsung. I was so exhausted I went to Hard drive erase. After I erased the HD, now it will not record or go into recode mode. I think all it good for now is just to view the monitor. When I call Samsung they dont have a clue what a DVR is. I never seen a company so illerate. They cant even tell me where I can send it for repair.

Hi I have a floureon cctv system which is set on continual record yet it keeps stoping could this be an issue with my hard drive?

check out your operators manual first and find the storage capacity of the hard drive
if it is on continuous record then at some point the hard drive will be full and will no longer record
when it stops it may be at a point where it is self erasing ready for a new period of recording ( similar to a dash cam where every so often it self cleans so that more data can be stored
if the system has an movement or light sensor it might be best to consider that to increase the recording time
If none of this is the case then you may have to get a technician in to diagnose the fault properly

Get the unit to turn on my recorder for recording what the camera see's

You are likely asking a question about recording "Motion Detection", yes?

Ron, this option is most likely to be accessed in the Setup menu of your system. Please know, a motion trigger is not without some drawbacks, mainly: it can miss some "action" to begin with.

If you have a good-sized Hard Disk Drive in your recorder, just set it to record always, and to record over the old stuff when it gets full. I have a "mid-sized" 500 GB HDD, strapped to 14 cameras, and it is good to go for about two weeks worth of recording every camera.

It is very likely that specific questions - like this one - can be answered by the manufacturer of your system, online, and "live", through an online "Chat" service. Surveillance Cameras are a hot item, and service is the name of the game, so most manufacturers have a live chat 24/7

Plug in the name of your system to Google, look for the website, and check it out. If your system is NOT "on the list", go to a website that has a system that just "looks" like yours, and lie to the chat person about it. Download a copy of the instruction manual, too. Print it out and set it near the recorder, for future reference.

Play with and practice with your system. Be sure you know how to easily "rewind" the video, and be able to show the police what you have captured and recorded if need be. Practice loading up a selected video to a flash USB drive for them, too. Keep a $5 one plugged into the unit for just that purpose. PRACTICE! Remember that ONE WRONG CLICK and you will forever lose the video! Do NOT play with it when you are excited or in a hurry, or you will surely goof it up, man.

Good luck, Ron!

Swan dvr wont record

It sounds like a problem that might be an easy fix. Since the system CCA board doesn't see the HDD. Can you view any previously recorded images? How are the connections to the drive? Bad IDE ribbon cable (yes do do fault), power to the HDD and how about the drive? Some of my DVRs require the manufacturer drive, not a simple off the shelf (i.e. Lanex or Verint).
Try that and reply back. :)

Our cameras were unplugged and then reinstalled (only partially uninstalled) and now we cannot get them to "reboot" We are getting an error of "video loss" I can not figure out how reboot the cameras so...

If your monitor is showing 'video loss' on each of the eight camera windows then the problem lies between the camera connections on the back of the Recorder and each camera. Without knowing what partially uninstalled means the troubleshoot process would be:
1. Use a voltmeter and check the camera power supply(s) line adapter where it splits to feed the cameras for full voltage- your unit should show 12Volts DC. Lack of voltage here and the cameras will not have power and cause 'no video' to the recorder.

2. Check the recorder menu to make sure that all camera inputs are turned on and are set to record. 'Covert' or hidden screens may not be viewed on a monitor but might show 'loss of video'.

3. It's highly unlikely that all cameras would fail at the same time so 1) if there is power and good video cable connections at the cameras, the next check would be to : 2) check each video connection into the back of the recorder and make sure that they are on camera "input", and not on a 'loop out' terminal by mistake.

If the above checks do not determine the fault, you would have to somehow feed a known good video signal into one of the camera inputs on the recorder and then troubleshoot the recorder.

If you repost what you have confirmed working we can re-assess.

Trouble with my recorder on screen display show HDD Fail and when we try to play is blank what we must to do.thank you regard riyanto

The hard drive for the recorder is bad. That's why nothing plays during playback. The DVR can't get the video off the hard drive. You'll need to send the recorder in to be repaired and the hard drive replaced.

Disk is full. Can not reset and erase the disk.

Hi !!
From your post Its not clear that either you are talking about Hard disk or Compaq disk. If its Compaq disc ( CD ) make sure its Rewriteable or if its hard drive make sure  nirtual memory is not allocated to that part and also no application or software is running.
Thanks Irfan
