Car manufacturers donot keep color code. Your best bet is to order a universal adapter. JVC color code can be found in the instruction book. I will attach a picture. upload is not working. email me to jpulickal@gmail.com

My jvc stereo will not power up but have found the black wire is live ?

hi peter, before you start using the rest of the harness cables find out if the harness you have is a jvc original for your model. the black wire is the ground/chassis cable only for a jvc kd-r411. you mite be using a compatible fitting harness whose " wire colour configuration" is incorrect for your model. cheers.

What wires are for what on my kd-g200

The cables for you In-Car stereo are as follows:

Black - Earth to to the chassis.
Yellow - Live that should be connected directly to the car battery and not the igniton.
Red - To an accessory terminal in the fuse block.
Blue / White stripe - To remote antenna (if fitted)
White / Black stripe - Front left speaker (negative terminal)
White - Front left speaker (positive terminal)
Grey / Black stripe - Front right speaker (negative terminal)
Grey - Front right speaker (positive terminal)
Green / Black stripe - Rear left speaker (negative terminal)
Green - Rear left speaker (positive terminal)
Purple / Black stripe - Rear right speaker (negative terminal)
Purple = Rear right speaker (positive terminal)

That covers all off the cables that you should have with the car stereo.

any local car stereo shop can sell you an adapter harness for $10-$15. This is a much cleaner and better way to go than cutting your factory harness.

I have the same model cd player (jvc kd-s575) and I need to connect this straight to a 12v battery. What is the best way to do ths and what wires are positive and negative?

im bit confused, if you are going to use this radio in car, or outside, using car battery.....? anyway, this how you hookup all the wires..
+YELOW WIRE,- DIRECT FROM BATTERY TERMNIAL..12+
+RED- MAIN WIRE..CONNECTED TO ACC/IGNITION SWITCH, ALSO 12V+
-BLACK- NEGTIVE, GROUNDING WIRE 12V-
WHITE TO WHITE/BLK----SPEAKER
GREEN TOGREEN---SPEAKER
GREY TO GREY-----SPEAKER
PURPLE TO PURPLE------SPEAKER
if you are using outside the car using car battery, then you can twist yellow and red togather..for postive 12v+

Help

Hi, Normally, your JVC Car Stereo will not allow direct connection to an Apple iPod. However, there are several aftermarket interface adaptor that will allow you to do so: 1. Connect the iPod to a JVC KS-PD100 which in turn is connected to the CD changer jack of the KD-G720 (rear of the unit). Set the stereo to CD changer external input setting and you're ready to go; 2. Connect the iPod to an FM Transmitter such as the Griffin iTrip (w/ Dock connector) which in turn will broadcast the IPod music as an FM signal. Operating the KD-G720 on FM radio setting will receive the IPod's broadcast music. Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
