Question about Samsung DVD-HR720 DVD Recorder
Last night we had a power outage, after a lamp popped / short circuited. When we got the power back on, the DVD recorder didn't work properly any more. The status is as follows:
- The fan at the back still works, and the display clock is shown. (it does have power). Also, the SCART signal loop from the antenna to the TV does work.
- However, the clock doesn't change, it remains at 18:00. Additionally, the machine doesn't respond to any button (Stand by / On, etc.), nor does it respond to the remote, or the 'reset to factory settings'-button (press >>| for 5 seconds).
Has anybody had the same problem, and if so, what should I do?
I could open it up myself, but I'm not an expert. However, I'd prefer the cheaper solution to the expensive expert ;-)
Thanx for any help in advance!
One week ago we had the same problem. And I Send the machine To Technical Service. They Changed the harddrive and reprogrammed the mainboard. Now it plays&record very well. I think U must send it to Samsung Technical Service.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
