Be sure that you have at least 1 GB RAM before installing Norton Antivirus. Otherwise the PC will be very slow.

Before you install any of the other antivirus softwares, make sure to uninstall Norton Antivirus. The PC may hang up if you install another antivirus on Norton Antivirus.

Ok then i guess you should try repairing the NORTON by running the installation again and choosing the reapir option or the next option is to use another anti virus.

you can visit www.avast.com/eng/programs.html and download avast! 4 home edition free edition.
please restart your pc before installing the avast.
after installing try updating and schedule a boot scan by

  1. cutting and pasting this "W62911071H4800A1106-PJY5XRR5" when prompted for the registration key.
  2. click on the menu icon at the top left of the avast window.
  3. click on "schedule a boot scan" and restart your pc

Good luck !!

Try uninstalling Nortons first. Go to Control Panel - Add Remove Programs and remove Nortons.
Then log out and reboot the computer, now install your version of Nortons.

before you do all this i suggest you try going to start and running system restore under start programs accessiories system tools - system restore and restore to a previous point when you were not having these problems... if that don't work try the next best thing

First uninstall Norton from your add remove programs in your controlpannel
Download the norton removal tool from there site
Here Run the uninstall tool.. then uninstall any drivers that you have for your cd drive then try reinstalling the cd driver once you have everything working reinstall norton

Yesterday intalled norton and today I Tried to install microsof works and tmy computer dont reconiced the driver

This is one of the main problems with Norton...believe it or not, go to the Norton site and download their Norton removal tool. Remove Norton, go to the device manager in the control panel and uninstall the device that is having the problem. Shut the computer down and reboot. When the computer reboots, make sure you have an internet connection and when windows starts it will recognize the hardware connected to the system and attempt to load drivers for it, it may even ask you if it can search windows update for the latest driver, choose yes and let windows install the device. Try to install your MS works again.

Aspire 7720 won't allow windows to load up.

normally one would press F8 and perhaps choose to go back to a known working date, or choose safe mode, which hopefully will allow you to boot up. Then you should be able to ensure that Norton has been removed completely. Try this first.

To open an account with norton for my laptop

Did you have a older version of Norton on your system before.
I have problems installing new version of Norton after not fully uninstalling the older version. Symantec has a removal tool for free to download. I would run this tool before trying again to install the new version. But that's just me. You do what you want.

Just bought my Vaio yesterday....

Hi

First of all just relax, its not very serious issue. You can start the computer in safe mode. All you need is click on F8 key during the boot process right after turn on the computer. Once you get into advanced safe mode, you can perform system restore. If you are using Vista on it you can just type System Restore in start search area and get into System restore option choose the date that system worked fine. After restore issue should be resolved. If you need further assistance please post.

Good Luck

Computer won't connect to the internet

"deleting" Norton does not fully erase the problems Norton can cause. For this, Symantec supplies a "Norton removal tool" on their website - of course you will need another computer to get the file and make sure to get the removal tool for your version. It is such a handy tool and I so dislike Norton that I keep a copy on my flash drive. Run it and Norton will be almost completely removed - there will still be some useless directories but it should fix your problems. You may have to reinstall your IP protocol but I doubt it - it's usually a Norton thing.
