Video Problem

That seems to be the monitor running a test. It might do that if it isn't receiving a signal from the computer. Make sure the cable is plugged into the tower and the monitor.

The graphics card could be bad, or the motherboard or power supply. Has it ever worked before? What changes were made? Was there lightning in the area or a power failure?

Turn the computer off and unplug it, and the monitor. Wait a few minutes, then plug everything in and restart. Hopefully it isn't a permanent hardware failure.

A test to narrow down the cause would be to use a different monitor or computer to see where the problem lies.

Screen goes black and then comes back on. It makes a double beep sometimes when this happens.

sounds like a loose cable or improperly seated. power or signal cable. Unplug all ends, and replug with snug fit. Most monitors dont beep. are you sure this not the computer restarting. I have also seen loose graphics cards sometimes do this. inspect where the card seats into the graphics card slot. see pic. (the grapics card is red in this picture.84a853e.jpg

Hummm. Try to unplug everything, reconnect, than restart. If not working, try to plug your monitor on a different computer to diagnose what is wrong, the computer or monitor. It could also be your graphic adapter, verify that it is firmly attached to the motherboard.
Lastly, replace the defective part.

Acer AL1912 sometimes doesnt start

Try reseating your cable connections. While you have them off, take some compressed air and clean both the connection ports on the back of the computer and cable connections. Check to make sure there are no bent pins on the cable connectors. If you know how, you might also want to open your computer case and reseat your video card and clean your system out with the compressed air. Make sure your computer is completely shut down properly and is unplugged from the outlet when you do this and before you work inside the case make sure you touch the metal side to discharge any built up static electricity you may have so that it does not cause damage to the sensitive components inside your system. If possible you might want to take the monitor and connect it to another computer system, if it works properly on that system, more than likely it might be your video card. Hope this helps

No signal - out of range

Start the computer.
After the ios info page/motherboard page is gone, start to press F8 a few times.
If you still get to the point that you see the Windows Logo loading screen, then press reset and try again.
If you have done it correctly, you will get to the Windows boot page.
Select Safe Mode and start Windows
Go to the video properties page by right clicking anywhere on the screen and adjust the video mode to 640x480 (or as low as it will go)
Restart the computer and see if that solves the problem.

If not, then do the same procedure, but go into system properties and unistall the video card.
Restart again, and install the drivers if needed.

Hope it helps.=)
