I have a Samsung SyncMaster 215tw that the screen recently went "black" on. If I press any of the buttons on the monitor (menu, pip, etc.), the screen occasionally displays for about 1 second, then goes out again. I checked the connections, but since the menu doesn't even display, I think it is the monitor. Oddly enough, after pressing the menu button, there is a dialogue box that displays and states the monitor tested good, then it quickly disappears. In the event my suspicions are not correct, here are the other things I've done. I've checked the cables to make sure they have not come loose. I didn't swap them out, as they are the only DVI cables I have. I rebooted the computer, and the screen displays for 1 sec when the boot loader displays the options for booting. I've also turned off the monitor via the switch on the back-side and underneath of the monitor where the power plug connects, and I completely removed the power chord also (based on a suggestion I read to another issue someone was having with this monitor). Nothing has worked thus far. My video card has only a DVI connection on it, so I was not able to connect another monitor to the computer to verify it is the monitor, as the 215tw is the only DVI monitor I own. Thanks in advance for your help.
