Question about Apex Digital GB4308 43" Rear Projection EDTV-Ready Television
I found this 43in apex tv sitting on the side of the road in a nice neighborhood with the manual and the remote with the original batteries still in it sitting there so we put it on the roof of the car and drove like 6 blocks back to the house.
plugged it in and it clicks once to try to turn on then stops and dosen't turn on and nothing is burnt anywhere on any board and the tv other than that is perfect no scratches no dust nothing anywhere. i,ve spent 3 days online trying to figure out whats up with it cause if it's a decent price to fix it or have it fixed would be worth it to me. also if u unplug it while it's supposedly on and plug it right back in the green light on the front comes on for a second.
HELP>>please any ideas or info appreciated
does anyone have one that works how many clicks does it make when it turns on?

Yes it is diffenatly going into protection mode, I haven't work on this set, dont' know what format it is, CRT, DLP, Plasma, LED, LDS. To me the first obtion on the top is correct, it it still doesn't start check for the horz transistor to see if it is shorted, you will need a moltimeter, keep the hight voltage block unplug, if the transistor is shorted could be caused by serveral issues, bad voltage block, horx transformer, diode in the defflection, or just burt out. Look for other short within that area if there seem to have no short, replace the volt block and it should start. Also some set has shutdown because of bad convergence, don't this set, I would say this one don't have it, if the convergence ic's draw's to mutch current it shout's down the power supply for over current protecting. I have seen this in other set, to know if this is your problem you will have to know lot's about schematic and able to read it and see if it has over voltage, curent and beam protection build in it. Cheaper set don't have it. RCA of famous for this.
I hope this help

I've seen this problem several times on this model. Your TV is going into shutdown because the HV block is defective. You can take out the Anode lead and isolate it carefully then turn the set on. If it now turns on, and stays on, then the high voltage block is bad. Getting this part is another, bigger problem.
