Check the EHT Transformer and the power transistor connected with it. follow the track of centre pin of power transistor. check the power supply and the fuseable resistance in circuit. also check the drive at the driver transformer. check 2-3 volts AC drive on base of power transformer. inform me if you find any problem.

It is a 32A14 model. power to house was cut off, electric people replaced phone poles. when power came back on tv wouldn't turn on, no red LED indicator light lit up, and it makes this chirping sound in...

The tv high voltage "H" horizontal transistor IC is dead. That "H" transistor IC sit out side outer wall of the FBT-the flyback transformer, that the big black block of a plastic, with a red wire with a cap hook up to the CRT-(tv tube).Best take to the shop for repair, because part for analog tv are impossible or near impossible to find and do for the replacement.

My TV just turned off and the red power light started to blink, why?

In most cases this error will dissapear by switching your television off at the wall and then switching tv on (via power button on TV front/side panel) "Whilst still switched off at wall outlet"

This will discharge all capacitors inside the TV

Now turn TV power button off then switch back on at the wall outelt then try to resume watching TV.

This solution may clear the blinking red light however if it does not it could be a more serious issue such as a blown fuse or even blown control circuit on the TV, In this case you should decide whether a repair is economical or to replace the TV.

This solution is based assumption this a CRT television and not an LCD.

Hope this helps

Sony BRAVIA 32 inch

I had the same problem with a old Sony TV.

To find out if the problem is temporary
  1. Turn off the television.

IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.

2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.

3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.

4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

5. Turn on the television.

If the light is still flashing the tv has stop working and you will need to buy a new one.

Tv wont turn

The blinking red light at the the front of the television is the "Diagnostic STANDBY/TIMER LED".
This little red light will blink 2, 4, or 5 times and then stay off for three-seconds. And blink again for 2, 4, or 5 times. This cycle repeats. The most common diagnostic code is the 4-blink code.

When the red LED blinks 4-times, it means one of two possible causes:
1) +13V is not supplied on the A-board. Or, 2) IC502 is faulty.

It is best to take this television set to a repair facility and ask that the +13V power supply be repaired.
The copper tracks and integrated circuit pads are very thin and delicate on the KV-24FV12 circuit board, and will easily lift off of the circuit board, if the incorrect desoldering tool is used. Unless one has a good quality PACE vacuum desoldering unit, one should not attempt to repair the television.

Television repaur

It sounds as though you have a bad start up circuit. This problem could be a transistor , capacitor, scr, diac or several other components in the power supply. This is not a problem a non trained person can repair as you will need to trouble shoot the circuit board. If you do have experience in trouble shooting components, start in the power supple with the regulator transistor, and also always check the horizontal output transistor before moving on to the transformer. Good luck and I hope this has helped in some way.
