Question about Smeg SE250XUK Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven
Hi my oven isn't working.
The light comes on but the fan and light on the thermostat doesnt come on. T here is no heat. Suggests that there is electricity to the oven but something isn't right. I have had a check of the main electricity switch as I had a power cut a few days ago but its on and looks fine. Can you let me know if there is something else that may be wrong before I have to call in an electrician?
have you reset the clock? this needs doing after you lost power. i suspect you have it on auto
for jez-cath and wilana
in both cases, probably the fan element at fault.

My problem was a bit different to yours.. the light and fan were functioning, but there was no heat. It turned out that BOTH elements had blown and had to be replaced. (expensive exercise and the stove was only 4 years old at the time). I would recommend NOT operating these ovens on a very high heat to get a reasonable life out of the elements.
