Why is it to heavy to move?
They weigh 500kg. A car weighs 2000kg
Take the doors off and the lids if you like to reduce the weight to around 400kg.

I have moved one completely on my own. ! ( I am a big bloke).

What you need is the following :~

Six 3" round fence posts cut to the depth of the rayburn for rolers
Two car scissors jacks or a trolley jack
Several chunks of wood cut from floor joists. 1 foot long , 3 feet long and 3x7"
Transit van or big MPV or a big estate car or trailer at a pinch.
Good gloves
Toe tectors

Put the rollers at 90degrees to the cooker, get a mate to help you then gradually hotch it over on to the rollers. Push the beast towards the door, putting rollers in front of it as you go, when they pop out the back. Go slowly, no rush. If there is a doorstep, the 3" rollers should clear it with some shoving and pushing. Next when outside push towards the van, positioned as close as you can to the rayburn and door. When its at the van jack up one end about 10" slot under enough wood to keep it propped up. Make sure its even under the two corners of the cooker. Let the cooker down on to the wood and remove the jack. Go to the other end and do the same so the cooker is evenly lifted. Raise it 3" at a time slotting floor joist (3" ) under until its level with the floor of the van. A good shove by two or three lads and it will be in the back of the van. At the other end reversal of process is needed.
That’s how the built the pyramids and if you are careful and well prepared its very safe and very stable. I have honestly done it on my own with the wife wringing her hands and looking worried.

I know it's tempting to solve the problem this way but you really mustn't try and dismantle it - other than taking off the doors and hotplates - because it's not designed that way and will need expert help to re-assemble so it runs properly and safely.

Where is the serial number located on stove?

If it is labeled like the other VGIC stoves, the serial number is on the left hand side of the burner box (stovetop). Remove the left side surface burner grates, burner bowl and grate supports.

I hope this helps.

How to clean grates on kenmore stove

I'm assuming it's for a gas stove... and we're talking about the grates on top. If so, check to see the texture of the part that touches the stove. If it's rough, like cast iron, Use a product like Gas Grate Cleaner. (sells at most stores. Grey, white, black and red container, looks like Comet.) If it's smooth underneath, put it in the dishwasher! Or soak it in the sink. Or, you can use the gas grate cleaner as well.

Inside racks? That Cleaner works awesome on them too.

St croix pellet stove

Had the same problem which I discovered this weekend..........

I have an eleven year old Afton Bay....the versa grate was not moving. I look into the inner workings of the stove and saw a bracket which had broken off....

The bracket was attached to the versa grate rod and made contact with the cam system in the stove...this is what moves the versa grate...........

I called my dealer, the part costs about $12.00 and looks like it can be replaced with out having a service guy come out..........

Hope this helps
