Remove the rtc battery and try again.
Also check for bad cappacitors. If you find some like the image below, you need to replace them.No Post-Fans On, Lights on, drives OK - be4ce4b.jpg

Switch all power off and remove power cable then reset the cmos by moving the jumper on the motherboard located near the battery :)

Loud beeping sound on start up , now will not start up , power ok

First remove the Ram and boot the system without it. If you hear continuous two beeps, then the problem is with the Ram, you need to replace it. If nothing happens, then your cpu or your motherboard is gone. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

I'm having an aspire m5640. it does not boot. beep?

Yes if there are error on the system you should most likely hear a beep most of the time when there is no beep it is due to bad ram. Some times beep codes can't detect bad ram and your computer will not boot.
Open the computer up and see how many ram chips you have if you have more than one take the one in dimm slot 2 out. There should be small writing next to the slots 1,2,3,4 or Dim 1 dim 2 ect ect. you always want to keep slot 1 with ram so start by pulling out the ram out of slot 2 and turn your computer on. If your computer still dosn't post pull the ram out of slot 1 out and insert the ram that was in slot 2 into slot 1 if still no luck it's most likely your board but the best way to test this is to know that you have a good working stick of ram you could purchase one and if it dosnt work bring it back ... theres also the chance of your video card being bad but there is usualy a post code for it (beep code)
if you have no clue on what ram looks or how to open your computer just google for installing ram on a computer and you should find step by step guides

by lights do you mean on the tower only? try to see if you can get the caps lock light or num lock lights on the keyboard to turn on if they dont come on its probably your motherboard.

Gateway gt5404 will not post have replaced ps and mb,pilot light on mb goes on, fans and cpu cooler start but no action other than that ....no post, no beeps no lights, have all cards drives , cards, and ...

You need to have the memory installed and video card (unless it's on-board) for post.

I'd say the CPU is culprit. Have you got another one you can try?

No Post No Beeps just lights and fans

If the computer just turns lights and fans thats because you have a piece of hardware that is unable to start.

My guess is that you burnt one of the three:

The CPU
The Board
A Card attached.

Disconnect the hard disks and DVD CD drives
Try removing a ram slot at a time and keep trying, keep doing that for all the pieces until you have none.

If at the end (when you get to a part where you only have Board and VGA plugged the computer still doesn't boot up, the best sollution is to try these 3 on another pc to make sure they are faulty before sending them to vendor.

Good luck

A7N8X-E Deluxe Nforce2 will not POST

I had the same issue a while back. You need to reinstall windows on the new PC. Your motherboard is expecting to see a certain hard drive that has the windows boot sector on it. If it doesn't see that exact hard drive the computer will never boot... so quick fix, just reinstall windows and everything should work fine.

POST issues

Hello please take the motherboard back to place of purchase. This sounds like a bad board. I have had about 13 of the same board customers would call me on. there is a hairline crack somewhere on the board.
