Question about Projection Televisions

TV is ON....only ONE STATION. New Remote Batteries. Will Not CHG ch or VOLume

The 37" TV would not go on. I replaced batteries in remote. The TV comes on now, however, I cannot change ANY channels with the remote, OR go UP and DOWN with the VOLUME control. Recently, I must have pressed something, because I could only get a station when pressing the actual "number" in....rather tha pressing the "UP/DOWN" buttons. So...right now...TV IS on, but, I cannot change any channels OR move volume. Channel # does NOT come on TV nor does VOLUME "green" lines. It is "stuck on "ONE" station. PLEASE HELP??!! Thankyou so much. (By the way....I HAD pressed on some buttons on the right side of TV, when remote did NOT work. I wonder if I did something there? It is 11:33PM EST right now. PLEASE HELP?? Thankyou so much. SUE/Arlington, Ma. I am disabled, and TV is ALL I have to watch during the NIGHT. ANY "QUICK" answers?? Thankyou SO much.

Thankyou so very much for trying....>I really appreciate it. It was a very good idea....but.....unfortunately, did not work.

I called the company that has taken the OTHER company over, now...."MINTEK" has gone into BANKRUPTCY!!!! The other Comapny is called: Global Navigation...located in California.

I was told by a TV repaoirman toady......NEVER BUY AN LCD TV.....they are "JUNK!!" They usually only last about 2-3 years! Not 20 years!! The cost for parts is HORRIBLE!

In Feb. 2009....EVERYONE even with OLDER TV's can buy or rent a "box" to get HD tv! Yoiu do not have to BUY an HD TV!!!

The Chinese Made ones, especially, he said, are made like "junk!"

QVC SOLD THOUSANDS of "MINTEK" 37" LCD HDTV's. ALL of them will be defective at some point soon. The Main CIRCUIT PANEL in the TV is "FROZEN!" THAT is what the problem is....and QVC qill do NOTHING at ALL to help ANYONE with even getting the part needed for $135.00 from California!! Even though they no longer sell that particular TV.....and for good reason!!! They will NOT help at all, with ANY COSTS associated with the TV, because, even though it is 14 months old, only, they said they do NOT have to do anything...because the ONE YEAR WARRANTY is up! BUT...they advertised on their station that at the time....the TV would last for at LEAST, 20 YEARS!!! What a JOKE!!! They will not even "replace" it!!!

Yes....I was surprised at QVC also....but, it's the truth!!

    Thankyou, again.

Solutions: 1) on the side of the TV there should be buttons to operate functions such as volume or channel.
2) purchase a replacement remote
3) purchase an all in one / multi function remote, and program it using the codes provided in the manual

Remote works but tv does not respond to remote, will not adjust volume turn tv on or off etc. The remote came with the tv. 1999 60" tv

Surely you changed the batteries. If you have a camera, camcorder or even a camera phone point remote at the camera and press any button. you will see the ir led light up in the viewfinder or screen if remote is working. If not replace remote. If so tv remote reciver is bad.

My RCA HDTV remote won't work with the regular tv. It was working fine last night until i pressed the tv botton and the volume button.

One thing you can try is to take the batteries out of the remote and then press every button on the remote, then replace the batteries. I have used this technique several times and it works. If that doesn't help try leaving the batteries out over night, this may reset the remote.

I hope this helps.
