Problem with RCA VR605HF VHS VCR

RCA VR605HF Repair Question

I came home one day and noticed my VCR was on and could not be turned off.   Whenever it is plugged in the video drum turns but nothing else works.  The controls are inactive and the machine will not take a tape.  Does anyone know what the problem is? Terry platt @vt.edu

Sounds like you got hit with a power glitch or surge.  Unplug the unit for
at least a half hour, then plug it back in and see if it works.  If not,
unplug it for a day or two to drain the battery power.
