On my quantum frieball plus AS 20.5 goes as follows:if having drive in hand power is to left, move right to jumpers !
Jumper config table on mine says, reading left to right now.
far left no jumper
PK is next pair: park is (slave)
CS is next pair: cable select is(master or slave)
DS is next pair: drive select is(master)
this is righ off the top sticker of my drive, stop laughing I know it's near obsolete but still works.

For Slave/Master set up most hard drives have a little diagram on them showing you where to put your jumpers for master and where to put the other one for slave. All hard drives are different. But on your diagram it should say "MA" for master, "SL" for slave and "CS" for cable select.
For Cable select you have to set jumpers to cable selected which should be on the diagram on your hard drive. You will need an 80 conductor IDE/ATA cable. The master conductor is at the end of the cable and the slave conductor is in the middle.
If you have two hard drives on the same IDE cable, then set one as Master and the other as slave.Set which ever one has your operating system on it as the master (though it doesn't really matter). Once you get them both plugged in and your computer boots up. You should see both drives and can transfer data as you see fit.
If you don't put jumper in harddrive is detects it as cable select means if you connect your harddrive to middle socket of ide cable and then it detects it as slave but if you connect it at the end of ide cable it detects as slave. But make sure that otehr device is not set as master only 1 device is set as master or slave . Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
There is a little jumper block on the rear of a DVD. by IDE connector. on the case above there will be a Table marked . Master: Slave: CS.
Now, you must set the jumper as to your drive's position. IE: Master or Slave, Master is on the plug at the END of the ribbon, the Slave is on the "Other" one. Accordingly the Master has the Master Jumper ON, the Slave the Slave Jumper ON. CS is Cable Select. It isn't all that used.
TIP: As a general rule, if you KNOW the role of the jumper capable device you're installing, it is better to NOT use Cable Select (CS). In this case you do, therefore it would be best to specifically designate the (33073H3) drive as (secondary) Slave [and your other (primary) drive as Master].
Good luck and GOD-speed. Please post back if you have any further questions, and/or just to let me (and others in similar need) know how well this steers to solution.

usualy its just one jumper if no jumper on maxtors becomes slave. jumper on 50 is master. if u use cable select.. on same ide another device must also be cable select. if one is master other is slave on same ide.
