Delma11-If your AV was working good before,it is quite possible the AV jacks are cracked away from the pcboard ass'y. If your tv goes into AV mode, try wiggling cables to see if picture comes in.You could also try changing patch cable, let me know if this helps. cooltek Feb.16/08

How do I get the Wii to work on my televsion. Scart leads etc all set up on still not working. Have tried two televisions!

Hi have you got the tv on the correct input channel if your using scart lead then you need to be on av channel 1 or 2 or 3 depending on how many inputs your tell has got

make sure the leads are in the telly and console properly then switch the console on and wait a minute then get the telly remote and find one of the following buttons
av
input
source
ext
or picture of a square with arrow facing to the right

find one of these buttons then press it you may need to press it more than once depending on how many inputs the telly has got

if after doing the above it still dont work then the chances are the video lead is faulty so you would need to try another one

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Could osmeone please tlel me how to switch to AV without the remote?

Hi, without the remote its impossible the only thing you can try is switch the telly on but leave the other device plugged into the av socket off at the mains then with the telly on switch the other device on and turn it on, your telly may then change to the av channel on its own, if it dont then the only option you have is to buy one of those all for one remotes as these will operate it and let you choose the av channels, these remotes can be brought for next to nothing so that is your best option.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Somehow we changed the settings on the tv so that the only channel showing is the AUX channel. how can we go back to the original settings?

hi you need to look on the control for one of the following buttons
av
source
or rectangle with arrow running from left to right
tv
input

once you have found this button press it and see what happens you may need to press it more than once depending on how many inputs you have got on your telly.

if your still having problems then let me know make and model of telly so i can see exactly what control your using and then i can tell you exactly what you need to press to get your telly back on correct channel.

Hi, i have a ps one i want to connect to my tv via the aerial. iv plugged it in and checked the av channels but cant find it, is there anything i need to do?

Hi, right now as your plugging it in via the aerial socket then this means you wont be using any of the input channels or source channels such as av ok.

now what you can try is when its plugged in and switched on go through the channels on the telly using the telly remote try channels you dont use such as 0 6 7 8 9 10 if after trying these you still have no picture then you need to put the telly on a channel you dont use say 0 then make sure ps is switched on with a game in then on telly remote choose menu or setup then you need to use the tv setup function to search the frequency as if you are tuning a channel in so do this till you see the game then store it onto that channel, now when ever you want to play the ps you just plug it in and put it on the channel you tuned in.

or an easier option would be to go to the well known auction site and buy a ps1 scart lead then when you plug this into your telly you just choose av1 or av2 and then you can play it without tuning the channel in so this owuld be the easiest way

let me know if you have any problems

HDMI conneection wont override tv picture

I am a sky engineer (not a subby)
the reason this does not come on straight away is because a Scart lead send power upto your telly when it is turned on. Telling the telly that this is what you want.
Unfortunately HDMI does not send power upto the telly. There are ways around this. ON Samsung, Panasonic and Lg tellys you can go into a secret menu and apply something called HOTEL MODE this allows you to change the av input so it would automatically come on your hdmi 1,2,3, etc

In your case follow my instructions below

go to the hdmi you are using for your Hd

on the sky remote
Press SELECT and GREEN until LED flashes twice.
Press HELP then SELECT and the LED will flash Twice. what this mean is when you press your Sky button, tv guide, services or interactive button to turn the sky on this will automatically change your av/source on your telly to the sky HD for you

You owe me a pint
Have a good one

Av button not working

you could try connecting the ps2 and see if it will swith to av automatically.usally these telly/dvd units toggle between tv,av,and dvd.if this fails, grab a rf converter unit from a ps1,connect this to the aerial socket and tune it in to a spare channel.guaranteed to work!!!.hope this helps, regards, steve.

BLANK TV

hi, what you need to do is find the source button or av button on your remote control as it sounds like its changed source this causing your problem. As you probably know your telly has many inputs for dvd vcr cable or sky but these plug into one of the inputs in the back of telly. Usually the problem is just that your on the wrong input channel like av1 instead of av2 or rgb their are many inputs so you might need to press this button 2 or 3 times till you get the right channel, i dont mean 1 to 9 channels i mean input channel like rf input or av input. This depends on what your getting the signal from if its cable and its plugged in via scart lead then it will be an av input but you might have av1 av2 av3 av4 this depends on your telly.
If your still having problems then give me a shout back ok best to check all the leads are in the telly correct as this will cause the problem your having ok.
Let me know how you get on ok or if you need further help

Hooking up a tv

Hi first of all are you using scart leads to plug into each device here is how it should be set up ok
1. Scart lead from dish network into vcr
2. then other scart from vcr into tv
3. Now ti recieve the signal from the dish network you need to have the telly on the right av channel so that its picking up the signal from the vcr.
you can test this by changing the channel on the vcr controll or direct via buttons on vcr.
If the channels change then your on the right av channel.
Now when your on right channel on telly you need to now make sure dish network is on and on a channel or press the tv guide button just so you know what your looking for when the picture comes through.
You need to press av on the vcr controll this will then pick up the signal from the dish network via the scart lead as av is the channel for scart lead.
say if you was recording from dish net to vcr you would put the vcr on av to pick up the signal so press av on vcr controll this should then allow you to watch the dish network with no problems.
Let me know if you still cant and ill assist you further if it dont work tell me what you have done so i know how much you have done ok
