Delma11-If your AV was working good before,it is quite possible the AV jacks are cracked away from the pcboard ass'y. If your tv goes into AV mode, try wiggling cables to see if picture comes in.You could also try changing patch cable, let me know if this helps. cooltek Feb.16/08

Hi, without the remote its impossible the only thing you can try is switch the telly on but leave the other device plugged into the av socket off at the mains then with the telly on switch the other device on and turn it on, your telly may then change to the av channel on its own, if it dont then the only option you have is to buy one of those all for one remotes as these will operate it and let you choose the av channels, these remotes can be brought for next to nothing so that is your best option.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
try leaving the telly unplugged for 24 hours if you cant exit the menu using the controll is their a back button or exit button on controll you could even try selecting the av channels using av button on controll if the controll is at fault it might be that the pads behind the buttons have become greasy or damp and not allowing you to press it can you change the channels using controll if it is controll prob take apart remove buttons and clean with a dust free cloth if the controll still works and you can change the channels but still have square on screen then it is fault with telly if you unplug it for 24 hours then ry again if you still have problem post back the make n model n age of the set and i will try again sorry couldnt be anymore help ill have another look when no make let me know....................................................................
hi you need to look on the control for one of the following buttons av source or rectangle with arrow running from left to right tv input
once you have found this button press it and see what happens you may need to press it more than once depending on how many inputs you have got on your telly.
if your still having problems then let me know make and model of telly so i can see exactly what control your using and then i can tell you exactly what you need to press to get your telly back on correct channel.
Check the scart lead by substitution, try another source of input, (game machine or dvd player,) it,s not uncommon to find bad solder joints on the print, where the scart socket is soldered to the mother board of the telly. there is no tuning as such for scart sockets, but you can get them in the wrong mode? S-video etc? but you should, in that case, get some sort of picture. Good luck! Nick
hi, the only thing you can try without the remote is to have the tell switched on then turn the device you tying to watch off at the plug ie if your trying to watch sky through the av socket then turn sky off at plug, now with the telly on switch the device back on at the plug and switch it on your telly then might pick it up and go to the correct av channel.
If how ever it dont do this then you have 2 options the first is to take the case off the remote control and clean behind the buttons this is the usual cause of the problem so clean the circuit board the buttons touch and also clean the pads behind the buttons, also check the battery terminals are not corroded if they are scrape the corrosion off and fit new batteries.
If that still dont work then go to your nearest pound shop or cheap discount store and buy an all for one remote these can be brought for next to nothing and will solve your problem.

you could try connecting the ps2 and see if it will swith to av automatically.usally these telly/dvd units toggle between tv,av,and dvd.if this fails, grab a rf converter unit from a ps1,connect this to the aerial socket and tune it in to a spare channel.guaranteed to work!!!.hope this helps, regards, steve.
ok if its does not go to 00 hook the came cube up though av
the game cube should have came with three av cords
yellow ,white ,red,pic,sound left.sound right
the avs are on the front of the tv and/or on the back
