System error Hi, After resetting the device it sends a "system err" message when trying to turn on. No buttons functioning. Thanks Peter when i presses the reset button the screen came back on saying"booy error please format unit" all buttons are non-fuctional when i pressed the reset button, the screen said '' Boot error Please format unit ''

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

This issue may occur if the portable player was formatted via Windows Explorer. Follow these steps to correct this issue:
NOTE: If the message you receive is Format OK? , select Cancel .
1. Connect the player to the computer.
2. Click Start and then click My Computer .
NOTE: If the Portable Device box appears, click Cancel .
3. In the My Computer window, under Other , double click the icon for your portable player.
4. In the My Computer [Name of your device] window, right click the Internal Storage icon and then click Format from the menu.
5. In the Format box, click OK .
6. In the Format Complete box, click OK .
7. Close the My Computer windows.
8. Disconnect the portable player from the computer.

It will not turn on or charge


Hi, the Philips GoGear is a portable MP3 player with additional functionality such as the ability to record your voice or the radio. Some minor problems may develop in the device that keep if from working normally. The most common issues are the GoGear freezing, not powering on and memory-error messages. Troubleshoot your device to return your GoGear to normal operation.

Unresponsive

1. Your GoGear may not respond to button presses from time to time. This is often caused by an error in the operating system and can be fixed by resetting the device. Resetting the GoGear is similar to rebooting your computer. You will not lose any of the data uploaded to the device. To reset the GoGear, press the "Reset" button located on the left of the device. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and then turn back on.

If the GoGear freezes after uploading a file to the device or if one song or sound file freezes the device each time you play it, the file is likely corrupt and needs to be removed from the GoGear. Connect the GoGear to a computer and delete the file from the device.


GoGear Does Not Power On

2. Problems with powering up the GoGear are often the result of an exhausted battery. If you cannot power on the GoGear, charge the battery with the supplied charger.

In some instances there is an error with the device that is keeping it from powering on. Unlike the errors that freeze the device, errors that keep it from powering on cannot be cleared by pressing the "Reset" button. The errors need to be fixed by using the "Firmware Manager." The Firmware Manager is a computer program that restores your device to their factory conditions. You will be able to use your device again after restoring it to factory conditions, but you will lose all of the data on your GoGear.

To use the Firmware Manager, open the installation CD supplied with your GoGear and follow the onscreen instructions to install the Firmware Manager on your computer. You will be prompted to "Restore" the firmware or "Update" the firmware. Since you need to restore your device to working order, select the "Restore Firmware" option. Updating the firmware will not delete the files or errors that are causing the GoGear to malfunction.

Once the process is complete and your GoGear can power on again, consider updating the firmware. Updates give your device extra functionality and repair errors in the device.

Memory Full
The GoGear allows you to make voice or FM radio recordings and saves the recordings to the internal memory. The internal memory is limited and the GoGear may show the message "Memory Full" when trying to save recordings. When you receive this message, plug the device into the computer and delete any extraneous files or files you no longer want to keep on your device. This will free up memory so you can save more recordings or place additional music files on the GoGear.

Once stereo is turned on it tries to load a cd. An error message is displayed if eject button is pressed. Other input options such as tape, tuner, and aux are non-responsive.

if problems like this happens to your machine it means the function ic is damaged. this function ic control all the functional button of the machine.

once it is damage, it has to be replace with a good one which is compatible with it gotten from the electrical store.

Getting error message that says File System Err,,,music won't play


Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. You recently formatted your MP3 player and due to that this error is occurring. Please reformat your MP3/MP4 player again. Connect it to the computer, go to my computer-> right click on the mp3/mp4 player-> select format-> Format it as FAT32 File system. This will delete all songs from your player, so before formatting it copy all songs if you don't have a backup.

mobiBLU has a "software fix" for this problem. I had the same thing happen to my player. I had to return the machine to them. When I received the machine back, they said that I could have downloaded a program from them. So I went to their site and did. When I returned my player to mobiBLU, they had it for only about 3 hours and put it back in the mail! I shipped it USPS with a "confirmation Return Receipt". It showed delivery at 12:34 PM..and the Return E-mail from them was dated (same day) at 2:57 PM. PRETTY FAST..HUH! I have the Program in my computer. It came zipped. I opened it and ran it. Fixed the problem right off. You can call mobi BLU and I am sure they will e-mail you the program. It is only 2.22 MB. The program IS:
Firmware file version 4.0.100.1190 It even says **SYSTEM ERROR FIX** DAH-1900 Updater M110 060424.exe This Updater Program also has all the "PODDER" stuff on it too! I don't know enough about my computer or I would E-mail it to you!

Error "A device attached to your system is not functioning" when copying files


Try this: click menu button then go down to settings and click on it. Then go all the way down to USB and change the current setting (either Auto or MSC). Try it now and let me know if it works. Please rate this post. Best, D.

IRiver MP3 Player Not Inisializing


If you haven't already I would try an emergency connect. -First perform a standard reset as you did before (press rear button for 20GB or disconnect & reconnect the battery for the 5/6GB versions). -Leave the unit turned off, but connect it to your computer's USB port. -Hold down the "o" button and then press the power button for a second to power on the device. -Do not release the "o" button until you see a message such as "emergency connect" or "mass storage" on the player screen. I beleive the message has changed with firmware versions, but it should be something similar. -If this works it should be detected by your computer as an external drive. You should have access to the files. -I would remove all music files from the device and then use the iriver plus software to restore system files. -If you manage to get to this point I would install the newest firmware available for your model of H10, found at the iriver site. The newest firmware adds a lot of functionality, speeds up player response significantly, and fixes many bugs as well.
