I have this unit for long time and was used for compition SPL sound. Last week it just stop reading CD and I don't know why!!!! I removed this unit out the car and find out that the motor macanicsum won't spin however, I can hear the optical eyes moving. I also notice that when pressed Eject button to eject the CD the motor that spin CD will spin about 1/2 sec before ejecting. If any of you know the best way to fix this issue I would appreciated. LOL

Re: Unit won't read CD
The thing with Head Units is unless you take it to a guy that specialises in electronics to give the full problem, it's better to replace the unit. Also repair might cost a fortune. Can you get warranty?

Usually Reset button located underneath front panel, remove front panel and look at unit, hopefully you will see reset button, press it with some pointed thing like paper clip etc to reset the unit. Thanks.
The problem is definetely a fault in the Mp of the set as it is not able to process the data from the flash memory or the CD. If will be good to open the set and do a through check for loose connections, faulty ground or joints inthe main PCB. Remove dust and fix back, Also clean your optical lens and drive unit. Fix them back and check again . If it works you are lucky or else the main processor is faulty. Hope you try this Good day
that is one of worse nightmare when you have a magazine loader in the systems when the cd get stuck. its common to all cd player some has better luck than others, Only thing I recommend is to take it to your local stereo shop or do it your self taking the unit apart and remove the cd. Keep in mind, when having magazine loader, some of the older unit will not read the new format or burn disk and it will read no disk or error and the cd will get lock. if the unit cant read the cd, majority of the time its does recognize there is a cd in unit. try tuning on and off couple of time and keep pressing eject button. you may have to do it 8-10 times to see if that will release the stuck cd.
I have the same problem. My unit has been sent in for repairs twice. Each time the DVD deck has been replaced. After this last repair it stopped playing dvds in 1 week. I know its not a solution but at least your not alone. I am asking for a replacement this time around.
There is a security cd that comes with the unit originally. You use that to reset the code. without it, is difficult to fix here in this forum. . There is also antoher way, if you had the unit installed, try playing the first Cd you ever played on the system. That apparant;y is a method for unlocking them also.
Other than that, you may need to get the serial number off the unit and get in touch with your local Eclipse Authorised repair guy.

Well, my display went out earlier this week. Took it apart and found out that the LCD on the 501dpx was burnt out. I also found out all we have to do is replace the whole faceplate instead of the system
This indicated that the unit is having a problem reading the disc. This can be because the disc is upside down, dirty, scratched, misaligned laser, dirty laser. Try to reset and run a cleaning disc through the unit. If it still cant read it may be a mechanical issue stopping the unit from reading the disc
