If you figure out how to do this, post it, and you'll make a walk away fortune. Vista, is the new MSoft door to the next generation backbone, called Winux(yes..you got, it , Windows meets Linux)..and 98 is the last bastion of the DOS shell applications. Might be more successful doing a transplant between an orange and an elephant.

He..he..just thought I'd keep this light today.

got backup?

The companion CD that comes with MS Frontpage 2002 Inside Out will not install in MS Vista. Any work arounds? Thanks, Craig

Start Vista's "Program Compatibility Wizard", and choose to install a Windows XP application.
Then, point to the files on the CD-ROM, and it will install.

Hi I have just updated my laptop to win 7 but i,m old fashion and still use Frontpage 98 yep I now old hey is there anyway I can get this to run on windows 7 or am i up for a new version

Like you I use Windows 7, and can tell you instantly that some older Microsoft programs do not work with Win 7, whilst some other ones do. If you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate you can try running Frontpage in Administrator and Windows XP compatibility mode.

Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate instructions:

A. Right Click on the Program name if installed (Could also try with install too if not installed)
B. Click on 'Properties'
C. Select 'Compatibility Mode'
D. Try using the different 'Compatibility Modes'. I would try 'Windows XP Service Pack 1' first, if this does not work, try 'Windows 98'
E. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'

F. Right click on the program name that you selected compatibility mode for above, and select "Run as Administrator"
G. Follow any further instructions

If this does not work, then it will probably be cheaper to find a used newer version on a site like eBay. Note that Frontpage 2002 has Windows 7 issues too, so please check out the following links.

Good Luck

I need a Frnt Page 98 replacement manual

Hello,

Try a used books bookstore, or flea markets, or your local library. You might be lucky. Another solution is amazon.com. I just found one for 18.99 dollars. Here is the link

Repairing Office 2007 installation restored functionality of Send To > Mail Recipient for me.
I'm using Vista Home Premiun 64-bit. Go to: Control Panel / Programs / Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office 2007, click "Change" and select "Rapair".

Front Page on Windows operating system.

Frontpage will have to be reinstalled or insert your Frontpage cd when asked for it.

Frontpage has been discontinued by Microsoft and they are now using two different web development programs to replace it with. The program won't load onto Vista computers but the server extensions will load.

Thats one program Im going to miss.

Compatibility of FP 98 to Windows XP

Of course. Windows XP is compatible with products, especially Microsoft products, made for previous operating systems. Frontpage doesn't really require much so you can install that with XP.
