Yellow shadow picture was fine one day and the next, everything had a bright yellow shadow...

  • Anonymous Mar 29, 2008

tv has shadows in yellow in blue. Yellow arch on the bottom. Blue at the top. Comcast tv guide when called upon has a shadow of itself above the orginal. Baseball thrown has a yellow or blue shadow depending on where it is at on tv screen.

tv has yellowis and bluish tones. Yellow resides on the lower half. Blue on the top. Everything has a shadow no matter how dark the picture.

TRIED: Pushing on the cables to make sure they are in good. Checked the convergence tried different things with that setting. Menu and picture function did nothing for me either.

I've heard of bulbs going. Is this possibly one of those things. If thats the case am I better off buying a new one.

When pictures are taken outside during the day they are unclear with some white horizontal lines and when taken indoors its ok.tried everything the manual said but still no changes

White shadow or white lines may occur if the light was too bright when you take the picture, especially in strong sun light. Have you turn off the flash light when you taking those picture ? If you haven't, then you should try to turn off your camera flash light manually. And I must remind you not to take a picture with your lens faced the sun light or other light (lamp etc) directly. Even if you take a picture outdoors, try to make your lens shaded by something, you can even use your own shadow to shade them.

Hope this help and be kind to rate please.

WHY DID MY PICTURES LOOK DARK WHEN I TOOK THEM OUTSIDE USING THE AUTOMATIC SETTING?

Was everything set automatic?
Was it a cloudy day?
Did you take pictures in the sun of an object in shadow?
Are your indoor pictures normal?
If you are sure everything was OK, no shadows, no bright objects in the picture, ISO was not set 400, flash was not forced on, etc., call Canon. There are adjustments that calibrate the camera for outdoors. It may need to be recalibrated.

I have exactly the same problem

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Only getting red, yellow, black picture. Like a picture negative....

Good Day, kybryants;
The problem with that TV is normally the STK's IC's, convergence IC's, but you describe something different. So, try these:
1. CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
2. CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
3. THE CONVERGENCE CAN BE RESET BY PRESSING "MENU 12596" TO ENTER THE CONV MISC. MENU THEN "8970" TO RESET.
Good Luck, big IRISH.
