Just started using my kb4040 and water i s leaking

If wand is on and trigger is off, the pump has self destructed or part of it may have come loose and the water is leaking out.

Ok//// believe it or not this is an easy fix. Choose plan A or B.

Plan A cost $175 Have me come out and replace the rubber strip around the door frame.

Plan B cost $0.00 + Elbow grease Get a pail of hotter water and a dish cloth [ no soap is needed ]. Open the door of the DW and Look at Black rubber trim. See how that trim is covered with a white substance or film. That is built up from wash cycles and dried on there. Work the wet rag over this until it is black again. Also wash the door where it comes in contact with the black gasket. This completes the seal. Wash it as well. If you can do this, it wont drip on your floor. It has nothing to do with any other part of the DW. It is a simple fix, but needs effort.

This is two things. One is the back flow check valve to the soap line is leaking. The other is the pressure switch on the output side of the pump.

FE = Fill Error. Not a faulty water valve in your case. (FE codes if it takes too long to fill the machine, but if the water is leaking out, the valve is not the problem, the leak is) If you take the back cover off, you might be able to see where the water is comming from. Possibly the black rubber hose from the tub to the pump has a leak.

Hi This could be just the water inlet channel broken or split. You will need to remove the yellow cover via the screws at the back of the unit and then connect the water hose to see where the leak is coming from. If the water comes from underneath the pump then you will need a replacement pump seal kit of which you can purchase on the Internet.

it comes from freezer. remove back cover of freezer and unclog hole where water collects

There is a tray that is in the bottom, remove the cover thats located just under the doors in front. You will see it most of time black in color and it will be easy to pull out be careful for it will be full. Its from condensation most the time in the summer this happens really no problem. if thats not it check the ice maker water supply line that could be it also.

there is a drip pan located underneath you ref but most likely your prob is a plugged drain line coming from the freezer. when you ref goes into automatic def the water doesnt run out into the drip pan but instead onto your floor..

you can clean the drain line by removing the rear cover in the freezer compartment and using hot water to thaw the drain below the evap coil.

replace it, good luck
