I assume you mean transfer from internal memory to card?
This is on the menu system - simple scroll through the menus to find transfer.
Also the MANUAL[Handbook] will tell you.
no book - look on the software disk it is there as a PDF file that can be read/printed.

Nikon Transfer not opening anymore when camera is plugged in.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

Can I recover a deleted photo from Nikon Coolpix camera

yes, you can recover deleted photos from camera with asoftech photo recovery program.
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/index.html

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

I have a Coolpix L15 and have used it successfully for the past 2 years. Before our cruise I bought a new SD card (2GB) and took 2090 pictures during the 9 days. Back home now, I can view all 2090...

I have a Coolpix L100, and have installed the Nikon Transfer software. I am using a USB cable (that came with the camera) to connect my PC (Windows XP) to the camera. The Nikon Transfer software does not...

Alright..... I had this same problem and I finally figured it out. If your pictures are saved onto the card, then the USB cord will not detect them. If you want to transfer pics via the USB cable, make sure they are saved to your camera. You can copy photos from your card to camera vice versa under your menu settings.
Also, your card CANNOT be plugged into your camera or it will not see anything. I guess the card confuses the camera. Seems really stupid on Nikon's part.
Your camera only has a limited amount of memory, so if you will be limited on how many photos you can save to your camera.
Do this, and it will work.

Picture saving problem

This is one problem with most compact point&shoot cameras, they're simply not designed for speed. More expensive (and more complicated, and heavier) dSLRs will not have this problem, and also some more expensive "bridge" cameras.

I took some pictures without the memory card in place. How can I transfer those pics onto my computer? I have the thing that connects from the camera to my lap top.

Use the supplied "thing," connect the camera to the computer, and transfer the pictures. You can use Nikon Transfer, or just drag&drop.

How do I get photos stored on my Nikon Coolpix S52 to save on the memory card?

First, you will need a slot on your computer for the memory card. Then you download your pictures to your computer, and then you can plug the memory card into your computer and save the file that you downloaded back to your memory card.

Camera does not show taken ( saved) pictures

problem is in memory card...i think. try with cleaning memory card contacts. use pure alcohol and small piece of cotton to clean dust or other dirt. if this not help, try some card reader to transfer images from camera to PC. try also with some other camera. it's possible memory card is damaged and you can't do nothing. try reinstall nikon software on your PC.
