PLES389ECC flashing F-30

This range is flashing F-30. When I looked it up it said to check the RTD sensor resistance chart. If resistance doesn't match chart to replace the sensor probe. I am unsure how to check resistance but we replaced the probe and that did not fix the problem. Any ideas????

My Frigidire model # PLES389ECH.Unit is displaying ER-30 when selecting one of the 'even cook' selections. I disconnected the AC for app. 2hrs for a possible 'reboot'. I reconnected AC, no change in the selections operation & I lost the clock function, can't set the time. The top burners function. The unit was repaired under warrenty approximately 1&1/2 year ago for a simulator malfunction. The tech replaced the thermisitor you previously mentioned. Could this by a repeat?

my PLES389ECC series is displaying f 30 and will not let me bake? what do I do ?

  • Anonymous Jul 31, 2012

I have a Frigidaire model PLES389ECH. My wife was baking zucchini bread and boiling a very large pot of water for canning. After this our control panel for the oven quit working. The oven light switch still works. I tried powering the stove off and on but no reset. I suspect the weight of the pot of water caused the thermal breaker switch to trip. Once I figure out how to get at the thermal circuit breaker I will try to reset it and cross my fingers. I will post here with results. A local repair man estimated it could cost over $400 to replace our control panel!

If you ohm the sensor probe, and it ohms good, check your schematics, you'll find a Thermal Circuit Breaker, actually two of them, in series with the probe. This is a resettable switch, and im not 100% sure what trips it, although im thinking its most likely a thermal overload switch, but i've noticed it can be tripped by accidentally applying to much pressure to the area the switch is located. The switch is located in the right area of the control panel, right behind the rear burner knob. You might look at this as it fixed our stove just fine without paying to replace the probe. You might check into what causes this however, as mine was tripped by pressue, not a fault.

I cant get my oven to stay on model # FFEF3015LSM after a few minutes is turning oven on, it starts to beep and screen says F30

It looks like the probe is the same as the temperature sensor.

On some models, you can recalibrate the oven control up to 35 degrees Fahrenheit higher or lower. Refer to your owner's manual for instructions on how to recalibrate the oven control.

Since you're getting an error message the following may apply:

OPEN PROBE CONNECTION
1. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.

SHORTED PROBE CONNECTION
2. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector. .

Our figidaire electronic stove/oven model PLES399ECD, serial number NF62311528, mfg'd 2/2006 has an error code for F30 when any program is selected. The manual does not list F30, what is F30?

Open (F30) or shorted (F31) RTD sensor
probe/ wiring problem. Note: EOC may
initially display an "F10", thinking a
runaway condition exists.

1- Press Cancel key.
2- Check wiring in probe circuit for possible short or open
condition. Check RTD resistance at room temperature
(compare to probe resistance chart). If resistance does not
match the chart, replace the RTD sensor probe. Let the oven
cool down and restart the function.
3- If the problem persists replace the relay board.

Error codes how to reprogram oven electric oven the code F30 appears on led display

Hi

The F-30 error code states its a Open/shorted probe connection. Check resistance at room temperature & compare
to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor
wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector. Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.
Also you can see the probe in the oven in the top left or right corner. It is pencil sized and about 5 inches long. You would need to get to the back of the oven to replace it. It has two 1/4 in screws that hold it in place. You then plug it into the control board and you are ready for baking again.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
