PLES389ECC flashing F-30

This range is flashing F-30. When I looked it up it said to check the RTD sensor resistance chart. If resistance doesn't match chart to replace the sensor probe. I am unsure how to check resistance but we replaced the probe and that did not fix the problem. Any ideas????

My Frigidire model # PLES389ECH.Unit is displaying ER-30 when selecting one of the 'even cook' selections. I disconnected the AC for app. 2hrs for a possible 'reboot'. I reconnected AC, no change in the selections operation & I lost the clock function, can't set the time. The top burners function. The unit was repaired under warrenty approximately 1&1/2 year ago for a simulator malfunction. The tech replaced the thermisitor you previously mentioned. Could this by a repeat?

I have a Frigidaire model PLES389ECH. My wife was baking zucchini bread and boiling a very large pot of water for canning. After this our control panel for the oven quit working. The oven light switch still works. I tried powering the stove off and on but no reset. I suspect the weight of the pot of water caused the thermal breaker switch to trip. Once I figure out how to get at the thermal circuit breaker I will try to reset it and cross my fingers. I will post here with results. A local repair man estimated it could cost over $400 to replace our control panel!

If you ohm the sensor probe, and it ohms good, check your schematics, you'll find a Thermal Circuit Breaker, actually two of them, in series with the probe. This is a resettable switch, and im not 100% sure what trips it, although im thinking its most likely a thermal overload switch, but i've noticed it can be tripped by accidentally applying to much pressure to the area the switch is located. The switch is located in the right area of the control panel, right behind the rear burner knob. You might look at this as it fixed our stove just fine without paying to replace the probe. You might check into what causes this however, as mine was tripped by pressue, not a fault.

Gary, I have a Frigidaire PLES389ECH. After my wife was boiling a very large pot of water (canning) our oven control panel stopped working. The oven light swtill works. Based on the above comments I suspect the weght of the pot caused the thermal overload switch was tripped. How do I get at it?

Where is RTD sensor located

The RTD sensor is the temperature probe that sticks into the oven cavity. At room temperature, it should have a resistance of about 1080 to 1100 ohms.

I have a code F-30 and the oven won't work

F30 - Open probe connection

- Check resistance at room temperature & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart.
- If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe.
- Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.

Hope helps.

Frigidaire FEF352BADB electric range gives an F3 error code when oven is turned on. The oven temperature sensor apparently is good as it reads about 1050 ohms. What else can I check and how?

F3 - Open oven temperature sensor (RTD)

Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. If the reading there is wrong, check the sensor resistance at the sensor plug and the wire harness. If there is nothing wrong then replace the control board.

Hope helps.

F3 error. Beeping wont stop.

Hi miketack,

If your Dacor is getting an F3 error code and wont stop beeping this is because of shorted oven temperature sensor or RTD. You can fix this by checking sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. In case that wiring is ok you need to replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Just get your model number ready when you call.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

While using oven~will shut off and flash either F2 or F3?

F2 Oven temperature is too high 1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).
2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature. F3 Oven temperature sensor (RTD) open Replace Oven temperature sensor (RTD)

Power outage than code f30

Hi,

As per Manual, this Refers to Open Probe Connection.

Solutions Offered in Manual :-

1. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature & compare to *RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Check Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connector.
2. (F30 or F31) Check resistance at room temperature, if less than 500 ohms, replace *RTD Sensor Probe. Check for shorted Sensor Probe harness between EOC & Probe connector.

The chart is :-

Our figidaire electronic stove/oven model PLES399ECD, serial number NF62311528, mfg'd 2/2006 has an error code for F30 when any program is selected. The manual does not list F30, what is F30?

Open (F30) or shorted (F31) RTD sensor
probe/ wiring problem. Note: EOC may
initially display an "F10", thinking a
runaway condition exists.

1- Press Cancel key.
2- Check wiring in probe circuit for possible short or open
condition. Check RTD resistance at room temperature
(compare to probe resistance chart). If resistance does not
match the chart, replace the RTD sensor probe. Let the oven
cool down and restart the function.
3- If the problem persists replace the relay board.

Just purchased a Tappan TEF326FB and oven will not work. Get an error code F30 whenever press Broil or Bake buttons. top elements, clock, timer all work ok. followed manual instructions but can not get...

After much effort, and thanks to ABSOLUTELY NO HELP from Lowe's (where I bought this range) OR any of the contact numbers their 1-800-# referred me to (ie. SEARS Appliance repair in Californina, Chicago, etc.) or the the local Warranty repair service here (where we were finally referred to - they were "too" busy" to come look at it until 7 days later on June 25),

I managed to find out that the "F30" error code meant an "Open probe connection". and to "check resistance at room temp & compare to RTD Sensor resistance chart. If resistance does not match the RTD chart replace RTD Sensor Probe. Chck Sensor wiring harness between EOC & Sensor Probe connection". I had no way to troubleshoot all of this or even to know where to look for the RTD probe or the wiring harness hookup. By the time I was able to find out what the error code mean't, I had taken the range back to Lowes where they tried to tell me that they shouldn't take it back because I had bought it a week earlier - even though It sat in the box and was not installed until 7 days after purchased. They finally took it back.
I promptly went to another appliance dealer (not Lowes or Sears) and bought a similar range which worked fine upon hookup. Too much hassle dealing with these folks.
