SOunds to me like you have a bad wiring connection in the fan unit, have someone check out all the connections, both between the fan and ceiling and the fan and light unit.

Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/sean_54c3a3dc48a7773c

Craftmade Ceiling Fan Problems

Make sure your fan is on high with the pull chain switch. Push the remote Hi button then pull the chain until it's on the high speed, Then DO NOT use the pull chain. Same with light , Push light button on remote then pull chain until it's on then leave the chain alone. If that doesn't do the trick then you probably need a new receiver.

All of a sudden the light on our hunter celing fan is flashing like a strobe light

Hi there,

Three possibility for the strobe problem:
1. Loose wire connection. Shut down the circuit breaker, pull down the switch, open the ceiling fan cover and check for any loose wiring connected to the main bulb, If there isnt any, remove the bulb and spray WD-40 or contact cleaner to the receptacle. Replace the bulb.

2. Replace the bulb with a new one. Preferably incandescent or a warm white energy saver.

3. There maybe ghosts fooling around. (I'm kidding)

Hope this helps,

I just added a light kit wired to a separate switch to my Craftmade ceiling fan. All I had to do was unplug the pigtail connector, wire the Blue wire and White wire on the fan, to the Black wire and White...

It sound like a common problem inside of one of your twist on connectors a wire is not making contact or has broken. The purple wire if grounded on one end is just a ground for the motor housing it is extra insurance to make sure you are protected from a short. It normally goes to the neutral wires. (neutral wires should be bare copper or white) Be causiouse elect kills.

Light comes on but fan does not. Electrician just here and it is fan not switch

mcdevito75 here, If the fan is brand new and just installed, you may have forgotton to remove the brakes off the fan motor while installing the fan blades to the fan motor, these brakes are pieces of plastic to keep the fan motor from turning in the box while shipping from the factory, remove 1 fan blade and either on top or just underneath the fan motor where the blades screw on are small pieces of p[lastic that will keep the fan motor from working, simply remove these plastic brakes.

Have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan that doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure that home depot does sell remotes for that brand, although you may have to buy a new receiver to go with it. Otherwise try a lighting store near where you live. They seem to be able to order things like that.
