AEG SANTO Electronic Fridge 3350-7KA faults

This unit is a big larder fridge and has served us well. It was not cheap!

The unit has developed a fault and the green LED indicators continually flash.

These LED's are what you use to set the temperature and monitor the settings when set-up. However, sometimes the unit goes in to cold operation run-away and has to be switched off and other times it fails to fire up.

This all points to the thermostat failing or not operating as set.

I'm willing to give a go at sorting the thermostat (if the fault is to do with that) but I can't find the thing!

Any suggestions or advice?

Many thanks,

It also collects a lot of ice in the channels, have you thawed them manually. It helped for a while

    AEG Santo K9 88 00-41 Refrigerator

Attended site to find the customer had x2 refrigerators doing the same thing.

    Icing up on the evaportor.

Both thermostats were set for +2*C.

Also I have a problem with a AEG Whirlpool american refrigerator.

The customer has complained about it icing over every 3 weeks.

I remove the perspex lid off the bottom draw to let more air return back to the evaporator.

The fridge is less than a year old.

When does the fridge defrost? every 4 hours?

If anyone can help it would be great

Change the sensors and it is a fun job. here we go door off top door pin removed lid off empty fridge remove rear panels you will see one sensor at the bottom of the evaporator one on the r.h side wall remove them. they go out of the back over the top and into the pcb. if this does not work you will need a pcb. hope this helps and good luck

I have come to the conclusion that it is highly unlikely the thermocouples (sensors) are faulty. There is no way for you to check them anyway. Most likely the fault is in the circuit board behind the display. My AEG is suffering from the same malady, the dreaded green square.

How can i stop my larder fridge from producing lots of ice?

If your fridge is built into the furniture, pull it out by releasing all the retaining screw, clean the condenser and the areas behind your fridge. Dust and fluffs reduce the efficiency of the fridge. Also turn the dial to three, if it is higher, older fridge do not need to be cranked to higher numbers. If no joy call an engineer, the level of refrigerant in your system may need topping up. Will cost you anything from sixty pounds for a qualified engineer to do this.

Fridge freezer not keeping temp

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Check the damper between the fridge and freezer. It may be broken or frozen open. If this happens and you have a water reservoir in the fridge then it could freeze and crack - leak and then flood your house... Shut off the water supply until you get the problem fixed.

AEG Santo 3778-8 KA Temperature Problem

hi tracy, think its possibly better getting a repair guy in as this fault is not streight forward. possibly a fault in the defrost circuit, or freezer fan not functioning, or possibly a leak in the system. all theese areas need testing equiptment.
