Dishwasher wont fill after repair

I have a Kenmore Dishwasher Model #587.14439200. I have just replaced the lower impeller but now when I try to run the machine it won't fill with water although it did before I replaced the impeller. the float is not stuck in any way.

first check to make sure the water is on then take the kick panel off and make sure the float is engaging the safety switch and the valve is plugged up if all that's ok check to si if the mirco safety switch is good
