Acer aspire 1670 problems

It used to cut off which i realised it was overheating so i cleaned the cooling fans and it worked. then months later it cut off again i checked the fan i noticed one was only turning every now and then which made it overheat. i swapped the fans around to see if the fault would move across and it seemed ok. i put it all back together and it does not work at all. you press the power button and it goes on and off in seconds, sorry to go on but please help me

Check out your BIOS setting if u can manipulate fan speeds from it then you can solve your problem by playing with the the setting.

Seems that The fan has failed, usually PC's are set by default to shutdown in instance of a fan failure, you have to figure out with fan is bad, also troubleshoot a little more before you deem the fan is faulty. You can do this by maybe changing the fan's powered supply but using a different unused PSU female connector. Pls do not misunderstand, thinking that I'm telling you to replace PSU, just use a different wire to supply it. Again, these are just a few troubleshooting methods, before deeming the fan is bad,

But all in all it just sounds like the fan is bad.

I have an Acer Aspire 5735. I use it everyday for my work, however over the last few months it has started to turn itself off. The fan starts to hum loudly for a few seconds and then it shuts down. I have...

The way you describe the problem, with the fan getting noticeably louder then shutting the computer down entirely, sounds like an overheating issue; the fan spins up to top speed to try and cool the system down, fails to do so, and the machine shuts itself down as a safety precaution.

Propping it up might have provided it with a bit more airflow, which may be why you experience the shut downs a little less frequently. I would invest in a can of compressed air, which can be found at any office supply store, and blow out the exhaust vents on your laptop. If you've never cleaned your machine before, dust and other debris that accumulates in the vents and around the fan have probably built up enough to restrict air flow.

Acer laptop gets hot and turns off-acer replaced one fan under warranty. Still have prob. but war is out

Here's a link to how to clean your cpu cooling fan. The system does shut down due to a thermal cut off, so you want to keep the heat down. Use compressed air on all the air slots. Also open up the bottom and scrape the fan of dust, or whatever if dirty. If the fan doesn't come on you can get one online. They're fairly inexpensive.

Here's a fan purchase outfit. Use this link. If you don't see your system, give them a call as the 6530 may use a fan that's the same in another acer model. The vendor should know.

Laptop shuts down

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Purchase a can of compressed-air, and give your computer a "blow-job", to remove the dust, because the dust is acting as a layer of insulation, trapping heat inside your computer.

Reload the battery.
Connect the AC power.
Start your laptop, and check that the fans inside the notebook computer are pushing air out of the exhaust-vents. If not, the fan(s) have failed, and you need a professional computer technician to disassemble your computer, and fix the fans.

My laptop switches itself constantly off and on,

have you try removing the battery and directly running on battery and also clean the ram and fixit it again.run the windows in safe mode and work for at lest houl an hour to chek you can go to safe mode by pressing the F8 key.if it is working in safe mode properly that means you need to check whether there is any virus .

I have an ACER ASPIRE 5720and it's switching off itselve very often can someone help me by telling me why that happens? thank u.

does it give any details?
it may switch off because of overheating or auto-power off mode.
to prevent it form overheating, plug and switch on without the battery pack in it, put it on a higher position, so that cool air can access it's backside.
now check if the fan is going, makes some noises.
- maybe the fan first runs then gets stuck :
clean it/remove the dust inside using compressed air(bicycle pump!)
- if fan doesn't work at all, you got the problem,
see the manual of the notebook, you may have to repair/exchange the fan/ see a specialist then.

Cuts off unexpectively

In the control panel, there is an icon for power settings. Set the fan for maximum cooling. Make sure the exhaust ports on the computer are blown out. Don't use the computer on a soft surface.
