Check out your BIOS setting if u can manipulate fan speeds from it then you can solve your problem by playing with the the setting.

Seems that The fan has failed, usually PC's are set by default to shutdown in instance of a fan failure, you have to figure out with fan is bad, also troubleshoot a little more before you deem the fan is faulty. You can do this by maybe changing the fan's powered supply but using a different unused PSU female connector. Pls do not misunderstand, thinking that I'm telling you to replace PSU, just use a different wire to supply it. Again, these are just a few troubleshooting methods, before deeming the fan is bad,

But all in all it just sounds like the fan is bad.

Acer 5600U is loud

Probably overheating due to extreme dust clogging the CPU cooling heatsink and fan. Take off the side panel and blow it out with compressed air, and make sure all the circulation fans are running.

I have an acer aspire x1301 and was wondering if you can connect any cooling fans

You can put cooling fans on anything. It looks like you can put a fan on the back, its looks to be a 80 or 92mm fan. I recommend a dual ball bearing fan if you go that route since they last longer. You can also put one on the side, if you cut a hole for one on the side. Another good option would be to upgrade the cooling for the processor with something that is all copper, and use artic silver 5 as the thermal paste.

Way to slow down the z5610 acer fan? it runs loud after 2 years.

http://computershopper.com/desktops/reviews/acer-aspire-z5610

A) Needs to be opened up. Needs to be cleaned out inside.

Two years? Bet it looks 'scary dirty' inside. After you have cleaned out the inside, donate the 'Gunk' to local mice. They can use it for a condo. (I would charge them rent)

B) Processor may need old Thermal Paste replaced. Clean top of Processor, and bottom of finned Heatsink, and PROPERLY apply fresh, new Thermal Paste.

Primer:
Air is used to cool the inside of that All-In-One desktop computer. The Processor and graphics chipset, are the two hardware components that give off the most heat.

The finned Heatsink, and Processor Fan, are the two cooling components for the Processor. When they get clogged with 'Gunk' over the years, the cooling capacity drops -> tremendously.

The Processor fan sensor, senses that the Processor is too hot, and speeds the Processor fan up. Also BIOS speeds the computer case fan/s up.

Could also be that the bearings for the fan/s are bad. Replacement fan, or fans are needed.

ONE THING HOWEVER Karl, to work on this All-In-One you need to wear an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip connected to a good ground source.
This is just like working on a LAPTOP computer, NOT a desktop.

Average example,

(And of course unplugged from power)

Need guidance in cleaning, and replacing the Thermal Paste, just post back in a Comment. I will guide you.

Hi, my Acer Aspire Z5600 is overheating. How do I clean the dust out of it? I need to get inside the case

You can usually clean the dust out by picking up a duster can at any electronics store (Office Depot, Staples, Radio Shack, etc.), then just blow it into the vents on your laptop to blow it out. That usually gives it a pretty good cleaning. If you wish to disassemble it to get even better, i wouldn't go to much further than removing the back cover. You can find instructions (with pictures) for how to do this here. Hope that helps!

I have a 13 month old Acer Aspire ax1700 Desktop. Had turned it on yesterday and Fan was making lout noise. Today I turned it on to check it. Was on for about 10 minutes and it just turned off. There are 2...

It seems that the power supply unit has gone. If you power it on and nothing happens then obviously the psu has gone. The heat that you felt was the psu overheating because of no fan and hence no ventilation. The noise was of the faulty psu fan that got stuck or did not work and the psu got overheated and got burnt eventually. Please replace it with a new one as a repaired psu may work but you cant rely on it.

Can i reduce fan noise on acer aspire 1670

Usually fans make more noise when they're dirty.

Have you tried cleaning the fan with some compressed air?

My acer aspire cooling fan is not working properly so it turns off unexpectedly several times a day.

if the cooling works well the fan gonna shutdown automatic. nothing to worry about, but if it does when the computer is still hot then you need to replace the fan.

when it shutsdown, does it later start by it self?

I just recently bought an Acer Aspire One and the fan began buzzing loudly and a few weeks later the screen completely shut off. Now when I start up my laptop I cant see anything and the fan buzzes. What...

It is possible that the CPU has overheated. You  should replace the buzzing fan and reseat the CPU. If that doesn't work my guess is that the CPU will have to be replaced.

L100 overheating

In most of the cases the cooling radiator inside the computer is full of dust, clean it as well as the fanblades and things will improve.

Try to find a place nothing is blocking the inlet on the back and the outlets on top and in the front, open the part which covers the usb and other connections on the front.
