Cable jack Somehow while moving this TV, I still don't know how, I knocked off the cable jack on the back of the TV. Anyway, I took the back off the unit to see what was involved. Is this part something that I can have fixed... Will it be worth the cost to have it replaced?

The RF jack is solder directly into the tuner module and as long as it did not break the circuit board inside that it connects to, it can be repaired . Takes a lot of heat though to solder the jack to the frame of the tuner. Sometimes I use 2 irons to get it hot before the plastic guts of the jack melt too bad. Also is sometimes hard to cram the jack back into its mounting hole, may need to file it out some. The makers don't solder these on they are just pressed in and crimped which is why they break off so easily. I recommend using the push on type cables to avoid this problem. Don't forget to solder the center conductor into the tuner board.
Hope Ya Fix It!

If you have other inputs besides coax in on the back of the tv, use one of them. this is assuming you are using a cable box. hook up the red, white & yellow from the cable boxes audio/video out.you would just have to put the tv on a aux/line in or video input. if you are not using a cable box, you can use a vcr. hook up the coax in, then the rca audio/video out to your tv. this would probably be an easy repair for a pro. you can call one for an estimate since you know exactly what is wrong, but why spend the money if you have other inputs.
hope this helps.

A loud knocking noise form the catalytic converter sounds strange, unless it was somehow damaged. Hard to say if it was the shops fault but maybe when they jacked the car up someone bent the catalytic converter. I'd take a peak underneath the car and see if the catalytic converters are damaged. It's possible that the belts are too tight and are wearing out the bearings in the pullys, but that wouldn't impact the catalytic converter. You might want to take it to another shop for a second opinion.

Connecting dvd player to tv

the back of dvd is easy because it only has outputs with color code, the inputs and outputs on the back of the tv are grouped if you look closely on the back. select video 1 as an input on tv, and start with the far left yellow jacks on the back of tv, connect yellow rca cable and check for pic on tv, if not move to next yellow jack on back of tv, until you get a pic, connect the red and white right below the yellow jack that gave you the picture and you should also have sound

Run DVD through tuner

ok a bit confused, Tuner ? like amplifier or Tv Tuner ? regardless seems like a easy fix .

First your cable box as 3 cables:1st . Power cable to outlet
2nd. From the wall ( usually a Coaxial cable coming from outside box ) into cable box.3rd. HDMI or Second coaxial cable ( One of these usually goes to the back or side of your Tv depending where inputs are located.)
Now Dvd has 2 cables 1st to Power2nd. To TV ( Hdmi or Coaxial )
On the back of your Tv will have 2-3 HDMI inputs . Assign 1HDMI jack to each media your trying to use.In this case TV HDMI 1, HDMI 2 DVD.
Assigning HDMI's will now reflect on your TV menu selection. Choosing HDMi 1 or HDMI2 from Tv menu will allow you use or view desired Media option in this case DVD or TV.
Now if there is Amplifier / Tuner involved like to connect surround sound to, connection may be a bit trickier however same principal.Plug all media into HDMI 1, HDMI 2, respectively, this time to the back of the tuner NOT to back of TV.Once you have done that You will need a third HDMI cable now from the back of the Tuner ( output Jack, usually has lighter color markings indicating Output HDMI) to your HDMI 1 jack in the back of your TV. Now you have bridge TV/ Cable , DVD into Receiver / Tuner and Selecting media will now be done not through TV Menu as before but through Tuner / Receiver menu or selection.
Good luck .

Good Luck

I have a panasonic phone set tg1103. I used it in a previous house and now cannot get it to work in my new home. How do i reset it to find my phone line. Do i need to set it to factory settings and if...

You should not have to do anything to make the base find the phone line as long as it's plugged into a working phone jack and the AC power is on.

Have you tested the phone jack where you are connecting the base to be sure it's working? You can check with a simple, basic corded type phone. (You should have one of these on hand anyway, in case your power goes out. Without AC power, cordless phones won't work since their base unit would be off. The basic corded phone gets its power from the phone line so it will keep going. It's a good thing to have.) Plug the phone in and see if you have dialtone at the jack. You don't know what kind of phones the former residents had and how their jacks were wired. The one you're using may have been set up on a second line, for example.

If you don't find dialtone at the jack, you can try others and move the base unit as necessary, or see about having the wiring corrected. The model number of your phone is a UK version, and I don't know the rules regarding who can do telephone wiring there. Here in the US you can do the work yourself, hire a contractor, or contact the telephone service provider.

If you find the jack is working, something may have happened to the cordless base unit during the move. Try another cord; maybe the one you're using was damaged. Then your remaining option is to see about servicing or replacing the phone if it's still not working.

Whehe do plugs go on back of unit? have direct tv

First off, you need to hook up audio and video by using an A/V cable to connect the DVD player to the TV, yellow, white and red jacks are coded, match the jacks up, put one end of A/V cable to DVD player OUTPUT jacks and the other end to INPUT jacks in back of TV. Also same with Direct TV receiver, hook top set of jacks to TV, with A/V cable, also connect coaxial cable from satelite to matching satelite input jack. Connect power cables, and then you're set. Good luck to you!

Remote Not Working etc.

If you have no idea what you're doing, NEVER open up a TV, especially if you're planning on SOLDERING!

Even after it's been unplugged for several hours, if you touch it in the wrong place you will be knocked on your ***!!!

If you know nothing about TV's you wouldn't know even where to start looking once you opened it up.

Most likely what happened is an accumulation of dust in an high voltage area of the TV was shorting something out, and when you moved it around and tipped it up, some of that dust moved. In particular if someone smokes in the room with the TV, the dust tends to cling more and conduct more.

RF jack completely pulled out from back of tv

To repair this problem you must have soldering equip. and reconnect RF input inside of tuner after removing tuner shield, then heavily solder base of RF connector to tuner frame to avoid same issue. Or you could hook audio/video cables from the output on another product such as a cable/sat. box or vcr to video 1 or video 2 input on back of tv. Wires should be color coded so all you have to do is make sure you go from the output on the other device to the input on your set. That should fixya.

No Picture

As long as you can hook that same cable up to a different TV and get a good picture, you must have somehow damaged the tuner on the APEX - unless the set was mishandled while moving. Those cheaper brands won't take much punishment.
