Question about Mintek MDP-1010 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

Won't play some DVDs

Recently my Mintek MDP-1010 stopped playing certain DVDs. It stays in the 'loading' mode for an extended period of time and eventually says it can't identify a disk. This has happened with DVDs it has played previously and that work on our regular DVD player. It will still play some of our DVDs though... Is there any solution? Could it just need cleaned?

Problem with Mintek MDP-1810 Portable DVD Player that will play movie DVDs but not computer burned video DVD

The problem I think is with the burner on your pc. Try re burning on another program like Nero and pay attention to the options. It will ask you if you wish to play disc in all types of players.

I was given a mintek dvd player model mdp-1770 it is say no disc when there a dvd in it i have tryed recalbreting it by sliding back forth four time then loading a cd but it still reads no disc

If the unit plays CDs but not DVDs, then the LED for DVDs is burned out. There are separate LEDs for CD and DVD operation.
If neither plays, there is a more fundamental problem. In any case, only factory service will correct the problem with your "white elephant".
I have exactly this model.

MINTEK DVD PLAYER MDP 1815 NOT PLAYING

Mine is doing the same thing. I turn it on, it lights up, it says open, but it won't play dvds or cds. Its not spinning and theres no sound. It used to be a good little player. Is it fixable for a reasonable price or is it shot? Thanks for your help, Jim

Mintek

The part that reads the DVDs is defective. I would suggest to try cleaning it using a lens cleaner, hopefully that works.
If the cleaning does not work, it might just be cheaper to buy a new one instead of repairing this one.
