HP IPAQ 111 Handheld PDA

I bought one of these a month ago and I just cannot get it to work. Yes it does come on but from there I am lost. I tried downloading from my computer to the IPAQ 111 by what the instructions indicated and the instructions seemed pretty simple but not here. Can anyone out there lead me step by step to get this PDA working or am I just going to chalk it up to $300.00 of junk. Thanks. Dumb and Dumber. t32856@comcast.net

I want to begin like I just bought the HP IPAQ 111 today. From scratch. Download nothing in particular. Want to make the IPAQ 111 work correctly with all of the downloads that the instructions say and that the IPAQ 111 and my PC connect with one another and that I can use my IPAQ 111 100 miles from my home.

Hey guys, my HP iPAQ 111 was working fine, then it just stop booting. When you turn it on the HP screen comes up then it starts to boot, then it just resets. It no longer comes up.

How can I resolve this problem?

Do you mean a hard / master reset to return the unit to it's original configuration?

What exactly are you trying to "download" to the PDA?

If you want to "wipe" the PDA heres how:

-you may need two people to do this,
-hold all three buttons together: START, OK, VOICE
-keep holding these buttons and push reset for 3 seconds
-let go the reset
-then let go the 3 buttons
-the Ipaq will go into CLEAN BOOT mode and start over again

Let me know if these worked.

The Ipaq 111 and 110 has an automatic lock down feature if the device finds a 3rd party software it dosen't care for.
HP says to fix this, plug in your Ipaq into the AC adapter and soft reboot.
If this did not fix it, many have found that leaving the battery out for about 24 hours will fix it. Once the device powers on i would recomend deleteing the file or program that caused the lock.

Hope this helps
(it also happened to me)

    Good day to all!

I have the same problem with my ipaq 112, can't boot even on hard reset

    I already found the KEY!

    Here's the trick dac

    1. remove battery and charger
    2. insert battery then put on the charger cable/usb

    3. press reset
    4. wait for it to load, then when the device goes out again remove the AC plug of the charger then re-plug it again to AC

it works to me, when i replug the AC adaptor the unit continue to enter the OS, so the conclusion might be due to dead/weak battery or insufficient power to charge the battery since we use USB port on the pc/laptop to charge the device

solution is use a higher amperage USB charger or replace the device with a new battery.

If you haven't already done so, try to uninstall and reinstall WMDC on your PC. Reset both your PC and PDA, and try again.

You could have a corrupted program on your PDA. You need to contact HP and have them re-flash or upgrade the firmware of your PDA and it should work much better than before.

Have a great day!

Can't get soft reset screen on Ipaq travel companion rx5915

Hi,
Try This:-
To perform a factory reset and return your HP iPAQ to factory settings:

1. Press and hold the Quick Launch and Rotate Screen buttons.
2. While holding these buttons, use the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the HP iPAQ until the device restarts.
3. When the HP iPAQ restarts, release all of the buttons, and then remove the stylus from the Reset button. The HP iPAQ restarts and powers on.
