From what it seems since your phone also won't work with the hotspot, the limited is due to a problem with the hotspot itself. If you own the hotspot, restarting the router may fix the problem but if you don't own it, then either contact the administrator or find another access point to use.
Hmmm, check if it shows up as a network to connect to..... If so it might be an internal antenna.... If not, then you can find antennas on the internet, best bet from the place you bought the router.....

You have not configured the DHCP or manually allotted IP address to the system or possibly a wrong IP address. This is the reason for limited connectivity.
The light blinks when it scans for the wireless devices nearby and as well as for data transfer.
Try running that program and if that does not fix your problem then you should goto your network connections page inside of the control panel and right clickon your Wireless Connection and go to properties, Once there click on Internet Protocol TCP/IP to highlight it and then click properties and make sure everyhting is set to obtain automatically.
