Hi there, I have just moved house and when I went to plug my HP 510 desktop back in there was no power. When I plug the main cord in the back the green LED flashes on and straight off again. Can anyone help?

    Hi there,

I have tried another power cord and I have also tried plugging it into a few different power sockets with no luck. Unfortunately it is a desk top, not a laptop.

Thanks so much, will give this a try!

Are you sure that particular socket has power or is controlled by a wall switch? Sounds silly but I have had quite a few like that with a desktop. Take the battery out of the laptop, remove the AC adapter and push the power button in for 30 seconds to bleed off any residual power. Now plug in the AC adapter only and try to reboot.

Look on the back of the computer at the power supply, make sure it is set for 115 volts, some of these have switch that can be bumped. The only other thing you can do is open up the case (with the computer shut down, unplugged and push the power button for 10 seconds to bleed off the capacitors) Now go through all the cables on the motherboard and make sure to reseat all the cables, something may have come loose or was jarred during the move. Pay close attention to the long socket coming off the power unit to the mainboard and there is another plug that has 4 wires and has a square port, this is the ATX power feed and it is the one that feeds the processor, make sure all these cables are snug. When you are looking at the front of the case, the left rear is where the attaching screws are for the left access door to get into the case.

Stairmaster clubtrack 510 console has no power

You need to contact the customer service for the unit. They should be willing to walk you through troubleshooting the unit for the problem. Before doing that, most manufacturers expect you to try to solve the problem yourself. Have you consulted the user manual? Have you gone to their website http://stairmaster.com/homefitness/home-fitness.html first?

Lightning strike near house. Power surge came through phone line and ethernet cable. lost modem, computer, time machine, house security system, and HP Officejet 6310xi. When printer is connected to power...

From your description the HP printer is damaged beyond repair, when a lightning strike occurs it also went through the power supply affecting the main board and destroying ic's and other parts. It is more than likely the interface cord from the computer to the printer also took a jolt hitting the printer from both sides finishing off any chance of recovery, you would be further ahead replacing the item.

Hp desktop wont start

I think you have more than one problem there. Take it to a local PC repair shop and have them check it out. Five years is a good age for a computer though so you may want to think about buying a new one. Best of the Irish Luck to yer.

HP Pavilion freezes on HP screen

So the only variables I see here are the monitor and/or graphics card. Maybe his computer has the drivers for your monitor and card and his doesn't. If either of you is using Win 95, 98,ME,NT this kind of thing could happen. They were also short on drivers. It kind of sounds like the software you installed changed something in the registry or configuration files. I've had this happen. Does his unit have a restore point? Might try that. I might think of more things later.

NO POWER AT ALL!

Does the power supply have its own power switch?

It is located next to where the power wire plugs into the back of the PC.
