ok, my DVD is a Samsung DVD-R130, when i connect it directly to the TV i use the red/white/yellow cables that came with the DVD player. After I bought the logitech X-540 I connected this way. The three cables yellow/black/green (sub centre/rear/front) coming from the back of the surround equipment, I connect the green output to the green input of the extra 3 input cable that comes in the surround equipment suppously for game consoles. with a cable that I had in my drawer (that has in one end a red and white input and in the other end a red and white input and output together) I connect the red/white input to the output of the game console cable, the other end I connect directly to the DVD and the red/white that were on the DVD going to the TV i connect on top of the other ones to close the connection. I know its kind of messy, but the cables from the surround system dont fit on the DVD directly, when I connect the Ipod to the surround system i just plug the green output to the Ipod input and when I conect it to the Laptop i connect also the green one to the headphones input.

Do you have any other Idea on how to connect DVD to X-540 without so many cables???

    Thank you very much

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output

OK... so when you connect to the TV what type of connection are you using for audio? Are you using the exact same cables and plugs in the back of the DVD that youused for your computer speakers????? Do you see where I am going with this ? Let me know and if possible may I have the model number of this DVD player so I can look at its specs to help you more?

I have the logitech x-540 5.1 speaker system, do i need an adapter to plug in to my macbook and iPod? so I am able to have hear all 5 speakers together?

Yes, you do, the adapter has 1 green end, which gets plugged into your computer and then the other end has 3 connectors, green, yellow, and black, which then goes into one thick cable. I have the set up right now.

The only way for you to be able to play music on your mp3 player with those speakers is if you Connect the mp3 player to your PC and play the music threw there.remember you cannot use your speakers for portability it has to be connect to a power outlet constantly in order to work

How to connect my Logitech X-540 speaker system to my dvd player or tv

On the logitech speakers, connect all the colored cables to their coordinating colors on the back of the subwoofer EXCEPT the green need the special Y connector that came with the speakers. (the red, white and green little one). Connect one end of the green cable to the subwoofer, connect the other end to the Y connector. Now you just need to correct the red and white cables from your tv or dvd player into those red and white cables and MWAH!!
