What could be thr reason my ip phone is loosing or gaining time

The phone should not lose or gain time unless the time on the PBX that it is connected to is being changed. Sometimes the IP phone may lose connectivity to the PBX and the time may stall but when the connectivity is reestablished the time should update.

from what I have researched on the web you need to download the Cisco unified Communications Manager software on to the P.C you wish to use to access the server via the web browser. it states you open the software via a web browser. The reason being the Voip server has no software on it.

What system is the phone on? If IP office, you can designate a time server, or it could use the voicemail pro PC.

What is the default username & password for the SPA921?


According to the manual (http://tig.csail.mit.edu/manuals/spa941.pdf) there is no username/password when you first use it. Perform a factory reset to gain access to this.

How do i manually configure and ip address for the mitel 5224 ip phone?


Press and hold the up arrow.
Configure Phone - Yes
network parameters - yes
press no until you see "change" and press yes.
You will need to set the following appropriately.
IP address, Subnet address, default gateway, ICP controller address, TFTP address, VLAN ID, VLAN priority, DiffServe Value, DNS address.

Normally it is not necessary to set the phone static except for testing. If your network and DHCP server is set up properly, you are not gaining any benefit for setting it static.

Also, you should find out what the other IP addressess are that are static on the Voice subnet. Along with that, you will need to know the DHCP range. These are needed so you don't assign a duplicate IP address to your network. Assign the phone to the wrong device could do great harm to your network. Assign it to use the same IP address as the phone system and none of your phones will operate.

Hi, I need to set the IP configuration on my MITEL 5212 IP Phone manually, but I do not know how to do it. I guess that there is a sequence of key to press, any help will be appreciated.


Press and hold the up arrow key while booting the phone. Configure telephone - YES, Network Parameters - yes, then NO until you see Change. Set the appropriate information, IP address, default gateway, ICP IP address, TFTP server address, etc.

You should be warned that this gains nothing except making another device on the network that requires deliberate management.

Chaging the time on the 5212 IP system


The time and date are a system wide change. If you have access to you ICP, after you gain access the first screen to appear will have three option choose the "Group Administration Tool" click on change date and time and the rest is self explanatory.

Does the date/time revert back only after you send/receive a call? If so, it's possible that it's trying to pull the local time from your SIP provider, and either that's not working as it should, or their server has the wrong dame/time set.
