Mine would work fine until I turned on my wireless headphones...then the mouse would move a little stop.....move a little....then stop.
I made sure my headphones were on.
I turned off the mouse, moved the mouse reciver to a USB port on the front of my computer (the mouse reciver and the headphone receivers were next to each other on the back of the computer). I turned the mouse back on.
The computer imediately gave me the "installing USB driver" notification.
When it was complete....both played nicely together...no more problems.
dear mario it seems to be a problem with the mouse cable. shutdown your computer and remove the mouse cable and replug the mouse again. now start your computer and see is it working now if no , then if you have a USB mouse try using it on another USB port else you have to purchase a new mouse and plug it in. thanks Gagan
The same thing happened to me today. Somehow, something uninstalled my setpoint mouse software?!?! While I was actually using the mouse?!?! (it just stopped moving all of a sudden)
Don't ask me how/why this happened but I fixed it by unplugging the MX1000--both power and usb connection, plugging in an old serial mouse, rebooting the computer, opening mouse properties, going to the Mouse settings (in Control Panel), clicking the Setpoint tab, telling it to look for an update to the Setpoint program, letting it download and install the program automatically, then unplugging the old serial mouse, plugging in the MX1000 (usb first, them Power) and Voila'! Working as it should once again, even without a reboot. :o) I love this mouse--perfect size, fast, programmable, accurate, long battery life, Perfect!
I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working
on my laptop. I changed the battery, still not working. I tested the
battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to
another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector
was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was
no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse.
The contact just inside the battery opening appeared to be bent down
away from the contact on the battery tray. So, I pulled it up a little
so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking
it a couple of times), it finally worked!
check all connections and restart computer. The p.o.s.t. will sometimes correct the problem. if not inspect the mouse physically and be sure all is well. It could be a switch inside the mouse if so simply take it apart carefully and check.if you have another mouse try it and see if it works this will let you know if it is your mouse or your computer. To test the bad mouse use it on another computer and see if it operates there.
1.) try to change the battery of the mouse
2.) try to connect the USB of the receiver of wireless mouse to the other open usb slot
3.) try to use your wireless mouse to other computer to troubleshoot
