Your problem might be with the brake light switch. This switch is under the brake pedal, and when the pedal is pressed, it lets you shift your van out of park. This switch also activates the brake lights when you press the brake pedal. Try checking if your brake lights work. These switches are inexpensive, and very easy to replace. Matt
The engine plenum will have to be removed. This is what the air goes thru to get to the engine intake. Remove ground, mark tag remove required cable, wires and hoses, take digital photos as you go. Be patient. The good news is we don't have to change them every 20K miles.
The very 1st thing that must be done here to start diagnosis of this problem is to have the PCM (powertrian control module) scanned for fault codes, that is key to fixing this right first time. In most area's Autozone and O'reilly auto parts do this test for free (except California).
I take it your talking about "check engine" light. Have you tried disconnecting battery for a minute or so? If light comes back on, try cycling your key just to "On", off, on, off, on & then leave in "On" position (not start) & count flashes of check engine light. Will be 2 digits, for example: 3 flashes, pause, 3 more will be code 33. 2 flashes, pause then 5 flashes would be code 25. Write them down & lets see what you get,and let us know. code 55 means end of message.
Check the enginer codes by turning the key off an on 3 times in 5 seconds. The check engine light will flash. Just count them. Note a short flash is a 2 diget number. It sounds like your TPS is the prob. Frankster016
