Question about Lexmark X1150 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I ran out of ink. I opened the scanner lid, took out the old ink dispensers, and replaced them with new ones. When I closed the lid and sent a test print page, I got the message "close scanner lid and press continue." The lid was already closed. When I pressed "continue," I just got the same message again. I've tried unplugging and replugging all the connectors to the printer. I've also deleted and added the printer again. I'm still getting the message that the scanner lid is open -- which it is not. :-(
There is a switch on the lid, look for a protruding piece of plastic which corresponds to a hole in the machine if you put a flat screw driver ( or a business card ) in the hole it should push on a micro switch, if the message goes away when you do that then the switch needs to be adjusted, remove covers and adjust lever.

Tips for a great answer:

the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even
when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:
Unplug the printer from the power source.
With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier
assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to
the center of the printer.
Remove the used cartridges.
Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.
5. Plug the printer back to the power source.
