http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=5717980 I believe this is the tool that is required for opening Sanyo cell phone. It is called a Tri-Wing screwdriver.
You might try turning the power off for a few minutes, and then turning it back on. This worked for my sons LG 600G from Tracfone. It didn't have a place to set the date and time in the menu area that the manual said it would. Of course tracfone is a little different with their phones, but when you turn it off, the correct time and date is automatically downloaded from their satellite.
When I close my Sanyo SCP-7050 cell phone, the screen will go blank for a few seconds. Then, it will come back on and state that it's "Looking for service..." and then "Entering Sprint service area." After that, everything is back to normal.
It doesn't happen all the time but just enough to be frustrating.
