Internet driver downlaod won't work

I've lost my canon pixma iP1000 driver and now i've tried downloading it from the net..well, i've found a compatible one though it doesnt work with my toshiba laptop with a windows xp OS..i've tried others but "only works with 64bit" keeps on popping out..please help me i have a paper due 2 days from now...please.....

You can download the software and the drivers from the Canon website. On the right side click on your operating system to filter the results.

Also, you can download from this link the manual for your Canon iP1000 printer. You need Adobe Reader to be able to see it: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Installation - Pixma iP1000

As long as you downloaded the correct drivers from Canon.com they should work. You should, using Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, remove any and all software for your printer. Double check at the Canon site that you have downloaded the correct drivers, and then do a clean install. Check the manual and follow their instructions. If after all of that your printer still does not work, you may have a faulty printer.
