The F2 code is the computer indicating an oven over temp - it exceeded 590F with door in unlocked position or 990F with door locked. If actual temp condition occurred, you could have a bad relay, in that it isn't shutting the heating element off, thus letting it over temp. If you're able to visibly inspect the relay, (can't remember its actual location...You may need to trace the wiring back from the element. I'm sorry!) look to see if the relay contacts are actually "welded" together. This is something that can happen, thus keeping the element on all the time.

Another possibility is that if the code were set and the oven did NOT overtemp, you could possibly have a failed temp sensor. You'll see it inside the oven. It's a probe that sticks out usually from the back of the oven cavity. It's an easy replacement and you can find it at most appliance parts stores.

I hope this helps you in fixing your oven! Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. :)

Lost directions on my stove. How do you clean the self cleaning oven. Its a ge electric range

Their should be a knob on it that says self clean or just clean set and you need to lock the door shut, when the cleaning is complete the door should unlock automaticly.
