After opening the case carefully pull the black "button" off. It will pull off fairly easily. From there you will be able to see the white plastic gears. Again, carefully remove them keeping in mind the order and placement they were in. Once you get down to the metal contact disk use a cleaning solution to remove any grime that may have accumulated there. I had used alcohol. Reassemble and viola it's back to good.

How do I clean a cd player

Easiest way is to use a cleaning disc. If it needs a more thorough cleaning you will need to take it apart. Then it is easy to use an alcohol swab to clean the laser lens.

Volume cannot be controlled

Do you mean the volume knob or as you might call it wheel doesn't work? If so, the least expensive thing to do is to take the face apart, remove the whole volume wheel mechanism (you will need to unsolder to clips) and take that apart, then clean the dust off and anything that gets in the way, then put it back together and solder it back. I've had the same problem, fixed it in under 30minutes, didn't cost me a cent.

My sansa player got wet.it works but i can not pick anything with the moveing pad.it is stuck on music and i can play all the music but i can not go any where eles! should i take it apart?

Sounds like you have grit in the wheel housing, I suggest cleaning it with rubbing alcohol, blow out with compressed air and then lubricate with a light household oil like 3 in 1.

If this fails to work then the electric contacts are corroded, disassemble, clean and reassemble and all should be fine.

When I press play, my tape player eats the tape.

that means that the uptake wheel is not turning. typically this is caused by a rubber band that is insde the transport mechanism that connects the motor to the wheel.

if you are comfortable taking the device apart, you will need to find the right band and just pop it on.

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Player says loading and then says no disc!

first try to clean the lens as if its not played very much a film of dust or grease ect ect can be on the lens. If that dosent work then your gonna have to clean the lens maually If you wanna take apart the unit you can then very carefully clean the little lens in slow circular motion BUT BE CAREFULL. if that dosent work the palyer may have went out of alighnment or the laser assy is defective. Good Luck
