Question about Canon DC40 DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

Canon Help! hi, I have a Canon DC40 mini DVD videocamera. I have been using it for the last year very successfully, good stuff! It was time to change the disk, the last one was full. I took a blank, new one from the same package of mini-DVD's that I had used successfully to this point. I initialized the new disc and got a "cannot read the disk, check the disk" error. I bought new disks, initialized those and got the same error. I put in a disk that I have previously recorded and it plays it just fine. Am I initialized incorrectly? I can't figure this one out... Thanks for your help! Brian my camcorder is on it have not image in to lcd

Lense cover won't open

Dirt or grain of sand in the small gear box that drives closing and opening of lens cover. Remove front assy. and if you are brave dismantle gear box to clean out. Otherwise just blow without dismanling the gear box.
