Rca 42in full hd lcd picture flickers

If the picture on your TV flickers, there may be a simple fix. Here are some possible answers and suggested solutions:

1. Your set-top box may need a simple reboot. Unplug the power connection to the set-top box for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power and turn the set-top box back on.

2. Check all of your cables for a loose connection by tightening each one with your fingers.Flickers can sometimes be caused by bends in rigid cables, too.

3. If your picture flickers to a black or blue screen, you could have a bad set-top box. Contact your cable or satellite service provider about installing a new one.

4. If you still have audio, the flickering could also mean that you have a failing backlight.

For additional troubleshooting information, check out the chart at TV flickering for more solutions. I hope this helps!

The monitor is going down. If I take out the current and put it back then it works but only for a limited (irregular) time then shutting down again

You may have a faulty inverter board or defective CCFL lamp. A faulty CCFL lamp may have the following symptom: Screen flashes on and off or displays reddish pink hue. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering and/or with dim display or appear black. Picture flickers on and off. Usually the CCFL lamp fails before the inverter.
The inverter board can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Flickering screen

You may have a faulty inverter or defective CCFL lamp. A faulty CCFL lamp may have the following symptom: Screen flashes on and off or displays reddish pink hue. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering and/or with dim display or appear black. Picture flickers on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replace the CCFL lamp.
To determine if the video card or the LCD is faulty, connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight or a faulty inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp. Usually the CCFL lamp fails before the inverter.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Can be either one of three things 1) logic board, power supply, or unfortunately most likely is your panel. But if I were you I'd get a hold of Toshiba warranty center to diagnose because then they could check voltages with toshiba tech support.
