You have to go into the 'settings' menu (the one with the little wrench) and scroll to security. Then scroll to 'restrict calls' ...you may have to call your phone provider to get the security code but usually it's four 0's or 1234, something like that. Once you get in there you can set it to 'allow all calls' or restrict calls to just numbers that are in your phone book. Hope that helps.

The only way to get the unbarring code for calls to be allowed from and to the phone is to call the original operator that supplied the phone in the first place if have have brought the phone second hand chances are that they have reported it either lost/stolen and you will not be able to lift the call barring the only other alternative is to find out what operator barred the phone and sell the phone for abroad/overseas calls only as the phone will be blacklisted in the uk but will work in some overseas contries hope this helps

Re: above question - Samsung E720 cell phone - I am still getting same message when trying to make calls :- 'all calls from this number are barred' - How do I turn it off or unlock this call barring. . I recently bought the phone and dont have any codes etc. All the headings in the menu under 'Network Services' are in grey lettering instead of black , ie they are unaccessible, ie 'call barring' 'call waiting' 'network selection' etc etc. phone was working before , so it must be something straightforward right?
