Internal DVD Drive

I decided to buy this product because I just wanted a really good DVD player, not a burner etc., and this seemed to be the one, but now I don't know if I can install it in my Dell Dimension 4550, because it (the ASUS item) is SATA, and the instructions have no diagrams, and talk about things I don't know about, for example, there is just one slot on the back of the drive, for the ide/sata connector I guess, (and I don't know if this connector is SATA? - and then they say, "Connect one end of the 4-pin audio cable to the audio output connector of the optical drive." - but there is no place for that... - I went to the ASUS site, but I can't find anything there. Please help. Thanks, cheers, L

Hi,
if you,ve purchased a SATA drive.
Then you should have SATA Connectors On The Motherboard.
If you look carefully you should see SATA1 And SATA2 if applicable. they,ll look like a small black/white piece of plastic connector. shaped similar to a letter *L* this is the sata connector, you may already have a hard-drive on 1 of them. ( red Cable ) The 4 pin audio cable, goes from the rear of your DVD Drive, you should have 2. 1 for analogue 1 for digital. this connects Audio from your Drive to motherboard, slim grey cable ( usually ) look towards the rear of your motherboard for this, usually towards the audio out ( if you have onboard soundcard )
connect this to Audio/sound ( you,ll probably have 3 located close together.
Hope this helps.
