If u r trying to update ur psp by any umd in this firmware, It may not be possible so all u have to do is download the update file(official update whichever version u like) and copy it inside a folder named UPDATE, the UPDATE folder should be inside a folder named PSP. The folder PSP could be found at the front(root folder) or when you open ur psp drive by using a computer... NOTE: a)Do not cancel or switch off the psp during update... b)Do not rename the update that you have downloaded...
Playstation website its the current update ver. 3.56. Download Using Your PC and a usb flash drive. On the flash drive create a new folder and name it PS3 and inside of that folder create another new folder and name it UPDATE and then download the update save it in the folder named UPDATE. Make sure the ver.3.56 is named PS3UPDAT.PUP. When the download is finished take the usb flash drive and put iinto one of the empty usb slots on teh front of your console and turn your console on and follow the directions that come up.
psp firmware is corrupted, you be need to continue thats update.. 1. update via UMD, the umd that are use must have same firmware version or higher (5.03). check it in other psp. make sure you have a fully battery, then turn on psp.
2. update using sony media go, it a pc client for sony device.. connect psp to pc via usb cable, you will need a internet connection on pc. and it will update to the latest version - 5.51.
it should be possible if you get custom firmware or downgrade
how you can do this is by using a pandora battery and a magic memory stick
you can buy a pandora battery off ebay or whatever for cheap these days and you can use your current memory card as a magic memory stick
all it does is start the psp in a mode where you can reinstall the firmware with whatever firmware you want.
you will have to research into it because i have done it on my psp
im running 5.00 m33-2
but my psp is a 1002 model
good luck mate,
if you have any questions, email me
this is a problem, only japanese games will work in a japanese console. Or, you can get custom firmware for psp(google it) and you can play games from any region, be it europe, japan north america etc.
