1 I take it that you are using the right connecting cables which are compatible with PS3 system. 2 Check the cables are securely inserted. Try disconnecting the cable from PS3 system and TV and reconnecting them. 3 If the video output settings on the system do not match with those of the cable or TV there is no picture. In this case turn off the system. With only the system and TV connected touch the system's power button for more than 5 secs to turn the system on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolutions. 4 If the resolution of the video is not supported by the TV the screen will be blank. Then go to system's output settings on the screen, select "Custom" and then select all the resolutions supported by the TV

Connecting a laptop to a tv

You have to tell the laptop to use an external display this usually involves pressing the FN + F5 on and acer but does vary from laptop to laptop

the second key usually has two screens printed on it

Earlier i configured my display settings to only HDMI. But now i do not have such television anymore and nothing is visible when i plug in then vga connection. Can i reset the display settings?

If you have a Sony PS3 that you move from place to place, you may run into the issue where you connect it to a new TV or monitor and you can't see anything because the video settings are different than what your PS3 is configured for. When this happens, you can't even get to the screen that allows you to set the video settings, so you are basically screwed. If this happens to you, there is a fix. Turn off the power to your PS3 and then turn it back on again. But when you turn it on, hold down the power button until you see something on the screen. When you hold down the power button of the PS3 when you are turning it on, it completely resets the video settings to the most basic settings (480p I think) so that it'll work on any TV or monitor. Once you can then get something on the screen, you can configure the video settings to match the TV you are hooking up to. You'll probably have to do the same thing when you take it back to your original location. But at least with this trick you can now move your PS3 around if you want.

My ps3 doest display anything nor makes any sounds please help

Just a gander, but your PS3 may be set for HD output thus not displaying on your non HD television, your best bet in this case is to find an HD television, friend, coworker, etc, connect to it and switch the settings back to regular. Also if I understand correctly leaving the ps3 completely unplugged for 72 hours may also reset all settings. Good luck!

I turn on my ps3 and nothing comes on the screen! the sound works but nothing on the screen! ive tried to hold the power button but nothing happens

Check the following:

First try plugging in a VCR or DVD player and see if you get a picture. If not, try changing the video cables. It may also be that your TV video jack isn't working. Which in that case you will have to get a new TV.

My ps3 is turning on but my tv says no signal on AV1,2,and 3.

You should start with a manual video reset.

While th PS3 is off, hold down the front power button until you hear two beeps, then quickly release. This will reset your video back to default.

Playstation 3 Does not display on TV using HDMI or regular video cable. senerio: My son hook it up using HDMI Cable to my bedroom sony flat screen tv to watch a blue ray movie and play some games. which...

I posted to your problem with a similar one. I was able to get my PS3 to work by:

1.) Powering down both the PS3 and ViewSonic LCD
2.) Unplugging the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
3.) Waiting at least 10 or more seconds
4.) Plugging in the power cables to both PS3 and LCD
5.) Turning on the ViewSonic LCD
6.) Turning on the PS3 and holding down the power button until the beep

After this sequence I heard the bootup audio and the menu appeared on the screen- which detected the HDMI connection to my LCD.

Very odd.. I've had my PS3 in the same place for months and just today this happened.

I wanted to post my success. Best of luck!
