Win xp on boot up goes to blue screen quickly then reboots

It sounds like a driver is causing the problem or a new software install, turn the PC on and when you hear the beep press the F8 key, you should get a start menu, select safe mode, if this gets you in use system restore to take it back to a date it worked.

Blue screen

Blue screen almost always has to deal with hardware failure, you're going to need to get your device cleaned up internally, and possibly get some new thermal paste on your device. This should fix it up, more or less you're going to have to take it in for some work.

Hi There,

I just experienced the same problem you did concerning the partmgr.sys blue screen error. I am installing Windows XP Pro SP2 on a pretty old Dell Latitude LS (upgrading it from Win 2000). The XP installation disk gives me the option to format in NTFS, FAT, and both formats in a "quick" mode. I usually do not recommend using the quick mode, however, after trying both NTFS and FAT and receiving the blue screen, I decided to try NTFS (quick). That has allowed me to actually get further into the installation, so you may want to try that.

What part do you usually get the blue screen, you also need to know what kind of blue screen are you getting, for example beginning dump of physical memory or unmountable boot volume, then send me a message so that i can help you.

WIndows XP blue screen

Hi,
Generally the hardware malfunction blue screen comes , when there is driver conflict . The driver conflict can occur if there is an external printer or a webcamera attached to the system. If you got the screen only once there is nothing to worry. BUt if the screen comes up intermitttently, trying removing all external pheripherals except for keyboard mouse and monitor and thnen check the working of the machine

Thanks
