Alot of times what happens is the phone will configure your sd memory card itself and you have to put it in a specific folder that will show your phone its a music file. With Cingular and Verizon I know it does set that up for you when you insert it, it should do the same with other carriers as well

Im trying to get music on sd card from computer to the card. the music goes to card but does not show up on card when i put card in phone.

The SD card may have multiple folders that the music may need to go into. If you put the card back into the computer, open the card up and see if there is a folder that says something like my music or something. If it does, then you drag the music to that folder and then when you put the card back into your phone it should play.

Putting music on my sd card

If it is in fact an SD card, there is a small switch on the side of the card. It will turn it from write protected to writable. Let me know if you still have problems.

Getting songs from the sd card to show on my phone

To find your music on the SD, go to my stuff, sounds, external memory, mp3 and you should see your music. Playing it, however is another matter. You can play only one song. Then you have to manually play the next one. Not what I'd call an MP3 player.
