Question about Linksys : RV042 4-Port 10/100 VPN Router (NELIRO05)

Factory settings for a Linksys RV042

I reset my RV042 VPN router, thinking that the IP address would remain the same and that I could point my browser at it on port 80.
The manual would have explained that the device resets to some default local IP address, like 172.168.1.1 or something equally generic, rather than the local IP address I'd previously referred to it with.
If I had the manual, I'd know what that IP address is now, but I don't. I'd also be certain that it defaults to port 80.
What's my router's default IP address?

Linksys RV042 10/100 4 port vpn router keeps dropping connections. Is there a fix I have spent a lot of money with various poeple to help and no fix yet.

The problem with the router firmware can cause various disconnection issues. For solving these issues you have to reset your wireless router to its factory default settings. Do not forget to configure a new password after you have reset your router, otherwise anyone will be able to use your network. Also, ensure that you remove all the malware infections from your computer.

Linksys RV042 Router and AT&T Static IP's

How were you advised you have 5 more sticky IP addresses? Are you talking about LEGAL IP addresses? If so, all you need to do is program your PC with one of the addresses manually and set the router as your default gateway. I assume you know your DNS server details? If not, use Google free ones 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
I hope you have firewalls on your systems!

I forgot password of my linksys rv042 vpn router how can i recover it without resting the router becoz they have a some special configuration on this. thanks gil

Login to the default router config page from your desktop pc. This is usually plugged straight into the router via a network cable. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in w web browser. Default login is usally "Admin/Admin" or "Admin/Password" keep trying different combos.

You may may have no choice but to "Reset" the router. The button is on the back of it. Just press it and hold it

I have aproblem with my RV042. I cannot access the default web page. Upon entering the default Ip it will always display the upgrade firmware unpon entering the difalut IP

Here's what you need to you may need to reset the router first if you want to access the router setup screen (default settings),

resetting the router - have a paper clip and push the button there for 30 sec. turn off the router and turn it back on.

checked the IP address also of the computer, click start run CMD and hit okay. Then push IPCONFIG and check it the IP address, you should be getting 192.168.1.100 for the IP address and default gateway of 192.168.1.1..

Let me know what happens there..

you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.
To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.
To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router Password: Admin
On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."
Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router
