Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I just got a Canon iP1800 printer. I have a macbook laptop that i cam connecting it to. I can not get the printer to work. It says that it is on my computer, but when i tell it to print, the printer doesn't even acknowledge the command. Most printers start to get ready for the print, but this one just stays as it is. What do i need to do? What am i doing wrong?

Did u change printers?
If you did you will have to select the ip1800 as the default printer if not is going to look for any other printer you had connected to the macbook.

Canon PIXMA iP1800 InkJet Photo Printer for windows 98

I think I will save you some time telling you that there is no driver for Pixma IP1800 running on Windows 98/ME.

The printer had been built to work on windows XP/Vista, and drivers for 98 were never made.

Here or here you find two of the many threads on Win 98 driver for Pixma IP1800, all of them end in nothing. I can speak portuguese, the links wrongly provided are drivers for XP, and won't work on 98, and there is also no brasilian website distributing drivers for this printer on win 98, that was just a legend.

This printer won't work on Windows 98.

An installation CD should have came with the printer. A USB cable would probably be your best choice.
